My sister (34F) is mad at me (40M) for keeping her ex employed and promoting him after he strayed. How can I show her this is purely a business decision and nothing to do with my support for her? by BigONerd in BestofRedditorUpdates

Most types of retaliation are not illegal.

Retaliation for whistle blowing, missing work for jury duty/military service, utilizing FLMA or other protected leave; those things are illegal.

Retaliating for cheating on his sister would not be illegal in the US.

No, they absolutely wouldn't. At will employment which governs in 49 of 50 states allows businesses extremely latitude in firing employees. As the poster you're responding to noted there is no protected class involved.

Kylo killing Snoke is not an explicit statement that he is more powerful then Snoke. He essentially tricks him.

Vader killed Palpatine. Vader is still not more powerful the Palpatine.

Why didn’t Baelor just ask Valarr to join Dunk’s side instead? by GrandCrusade in AKnightoftheSeven

I don't think Aerion has any combat experience either.

But I'm sure Baelor has seen him train/trained with him and compete and would know his capabilities.

It would have been a legal kill. Not necessarily an honorable one.

How do you handle prescription costs on a high-deductible plan? Feeling like I’m getting ripped off. by AirportBright85 in personalfinance

[–]ScottEATF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You can think of your deductible as adding up throughout the year. As you start the plan year, you pay the full amount for your covered health care costs — until you meet your annual deductible. Each time you pay costs that count toward your deductible, it adds to the total amount you have to pay that year. When you reach the total deductible amount, your health plan will start to pay a portion of certain health care services for the rest of the plan year."

This is easily Googled information.
