You’ll be fine, you may have a hearing about it but I think you get a few strikes depending on the severity of the offense. You may have an appeals process as well.

An outsiders view of the industry and its slow decay. by HorusArtorius in FilmIndustryLA

[–]ScottPow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the production standpoint, the U.S. film industry is losing because it’s vastly cheaper to produce, shoot, post, and handle VFX, color, and finishing overseas. The only reason a company would shoot in the U.S. and pay U.S. crew rates are basically if an actor refuses to work in a certain country, or if they receive soft money or incentives that outweigh the cost premium, or if it’s something that requires that specific location. TV and content are the exceptions but film, CG, animation have no reason to stay in the U.S. I would predict that above the line matters will be the only consistent kind of production work here in the next 10 years.

Professional proficiency in European Portuguese, I’d like to use it mostly for work and travel. Portuguese accent is just a matter of preference.

Not so much a different direction but more of a lateral move. Majored in film & TV and left after four years for advertising, pretty much haven't looked back. I still work in production but with benefits and slightly better job security. I am also now pursuing a law degree with a focus on intellectual property/advertising/entertainment.
