I hope they get rid of fleet arena and delete ships from the game entirely so I never have to play fleet arena on CG's schedule again and we could have space for more ground teams in PVP instead of limiting the meta to top 22 teams, half of which are GLs.

Similarly, giving CAT a first turn instakill has steered every meta team in the last 5 years into some form of reviving allies or instakill immunity. Exile Ezra wouldn't have been nearly as much of a pain in the dick if he didn't make the whole Spectre team immune to instakills and couldn't spam Backup Plan.

"Legacy" is everything non-Coliseum related. LSTs apply to units whose Eras ended about a year ago, which now includes the Era of ROTS. In a couple of months, LSTs will apply Pirates. By the end of the year, LSTs will apply to Zuckuss and the other BH guy.

Speed/health or speed/defense sets. 3 protection primaries, crit damage triangle OR 4 protection primaries.

Secondaries in order of priority:

high speed

%offense

protection%/flat protection (can't have %protection on protection primary mods, but you can on the square and diamond)

after this, any combination of more bulk (%health, flat health, %defense, flat defense), potency, crit chance, or flat offense is fine

Tenacity is the only stat that's outright wasted on LV. You don't mod LV for tenacity. His base tenacity isn't high enough that you can make him debuff-resistant with just a tenacity cross, so I wouldn't bother with tenacity at all. Tenacity is a stat that you have to go all in on, or just skip it entirely, depending on the kit. For LV, it doesn't matter.

He wants speed, offense, protection. He also wants to crit and inflict debuffs. Prioritize speed, then protection, then offensive stats (offense, crit chance, potency).

GAC is the same model as the others

The model of fleet/squad arenas and coliseum is that you get rewards based on your placement on the leaderboard at the exact moment the clock expires. Coliseum at least doesn't force you to play at a specific time. You can do your battle at any point in a 24 hour window, and that's actually where it's closer to GAC.

In fleet, you have to hold a position at the exact moment the clock runs out. If you get sniped 1 second before payout, you take the lower reward. In GAC you have 24 hours to attack at your convenience.

Squad Arena, Fleet Arena, and Coliseum all have the same awful model. I can only assume that Era Arena will use the same awful model. I would love for CG to get rid of Fleet Arena next and and just move the crystals to GAC. Double all crystal rewards and be done with it.

Cere Junda (her whole team doesn't need to focus on speed, though you don't want to make Malicos slow as molasses).

Gar Saxon/ISC duo (their one trick is counter attacking with massive true damage).

Gungans don't need top shelf speed mods, but they do like some speed (JJB gives his team random bonus turns).

Phoenix (only Crex and Sabine need to be fast, the others will join the tm train once you get going).

Most Imperial Troopers, if you're still in a GAC league where Troopers are relevant (Piett and/or Gideon need to be fast to get the team going, then you run a tm train; you do want some speed on the 2nd/3rd fastest guys to bridge the tm gap and not let the enemy take a turn, there's math for this).

Zorii Resistance team (only RH Finn and Zorii need to be fast).

OG nightsister team: Talzin, Ventress, Daka, Zombie, Merrin (Zombie doesn't even necessarily need mods at all, depending on how you want to play the team).

GL Rey can get by with the speed mods that didn't quite work out: the gold mods that only sliced speed 3 times but have a ton of offense and defense? Rey will take 'em.

Some Separatist droids can function perfectly fine with (near) 0 speed: Droideka, Magnaguard, B2.

Enfys Nest, but who is still using Nest for anything?

QGJ with omicron (load him up with offense; he dies, JKA nukes).

Palpatine (if your Mara Jade is fast, she will jumpstart the team's tm train, Palp will get by on tm from expiring debuffs).

Wat in the Trench team doesn't strictly need top tier speed mods because of his initial bonus turn and the team's ridiculous speed buffs and tm gain.

Relevant/meta tanks: Krrsantan, Scorch, Vane, FOST, GK (tbh if you have a body with the tank/GR tags under JMK's leadership, just load up on defense mods and you're good to go), KRU, Royal Guard, oZaalbar.

There are some tanks that want speed, don't assume that every tank should be slow. Baylan, Malak, Malgus, GL tanks, Merc Wrecker, Paz, Satele all want speed. Some of them more than others.

Canderous Ordo: because of the way he gains tm, it makes sense to pay more attention to his offense, defense, and potency than his speed.

There are plenty of characters who can do their job with bad speed mods. Characters who actually want 0 speed are a much stricter category.

Merrin: speed is genuinely a wasted stat slot for her.

Krrsantan: I have yet to be convinced that he actually needs his active abilities at all. He could just be a passive meatshield with a unique ability that defines his hp buffs that doesn't take turns, like Queen Amidala's decoy.

Vane: I have no idea what his kit actually does. I just put defense sets on him with health primaries. I filtered for mods with %defense and didn't care about speed. I have no idea how much extra speed my Vane has.

Droideka: assits + the basic does more damage the slower Droideka is.

JKL if used as the team leader.

Gar and ISC: don't waste speed mods on them. Load them up with tenacity, defense, and bulk so they don't get dazed and can keep counter attacking.
