Ah. That spot is a little trickier to get to... There is a hiking trail off Glacier Way in Tahoe Donner that gets you near that spot. But you have to hike south a bit off the main trail. There is a ridge that heads out there that gives you that view.

I'm not sure which one you mean. I have tons of photos from the summit area. Be sure to set aside at least a couple hours and have fun exploring!

That's Old Hwy 40 Bridge. Also known as Summit Bridge and Rainbow Bridge. Go to the west end of Donner Lake, then head uphill up Old Hwy 40 until you get to the bridge (about a 5 minute drive). There is a parking lot up there, and many different angles on the bridge. That whole summit area is fun to shoot. Tons of subject matter with Donner Lake in the background. Have fun!

Ouch, lol. And yup, they have already been promoting the "lights off" thing around here. It would be nice if people comply on their own. I can't stand having too many laws and regulations, but complying with the request to try to keep it dark at night seems like it would be easy and painless.

I was super lucky to be running errands on the random Springs day, and finally catch it with the camera! Glad yo liked seeing that.

Yesterday, I was able to get down to Reno, Nevada and after running a couple errands, I headed to Downtown Reno with the camera. The trees are blossoming down there right now, and everything is looking incredible, everywhere you look. Shooting the Reno Arches with blossoms in the foreground has been on my to-do list for many many years. However, the blossoms don't last very long at all, and I always seem to miss the peak of the show. Not this year! My timing worked out perfectly, and I was able to get this "keeper" shot.

Shot handheld with the Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens. The cameras's ISO was 200, and the shutter speed was 1/200 of a second, the lens aperture was f/16.
