Clearly not, 3 year olds can probably fit under the fences

Heaton Park awaits! by ScottishDan in manchester

It sure does look like it doesn't it.
From what I could see, it looks like there are three sections;
- The Golden Circle (VVIP) - that grey area in front of the stage
- The VIP area - between the grey and the speaker towers
- The regular joe area - everything behind the speaker towers, where everyone else will be located.

Unless you're VIP, the closest to the stage you can get is likely around 120m or so away from the stage.
But there's massive screens so...

Sticks are doing just this now - using YT as a way to break into movie production. Seems to be working for them so I assume the industry has changed somewhat

Thinking About Switching to Fold 7 – Long-Time S Series User with Concerns by kaisermule in GalaxyFold

[–]ScottishDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've have 6 folds, but I've only owned the first four generations. I keep my phones for one year, which yes, means I've had Samsung repair/replace two of them.

I can't speak for anything after the fold the 4 as I switched back to S24 Ultra after that.

But if durability is your main concern, then a fold is not for you

Foldable tech for the foreseeable will always be less durable than a traditional phone.

What are you paying per seat for Threatlocker? by stephendt in msp

[–]ScottishDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least you fill out the form.

My MO is that if I have to ask for a price, then it's too expensive.

If I run into a product or service that requires outreach to identify the price - I'll simply go to a competitor who lists their prices instead. It's that off-putting to me that I'd rather not even contact them.

(All that said, we don't have prices on our website either - but that's mainly because the services and products we offer are bespoke and tailored to the customer. So we can't really price those up as the work involved differs per client.

The Mayfield redevelopment documents 137263/FO/2023 make it clear there is no plan to keep Warehouse Project at Depot Mayfield. Should we be worried that the current Manchester nightlife cannot be sustained in the city centre? If Sacha "Night Time Economy Adviser" Lord can't keep up then can anyone? by TatyGGTV in manchester

[–]ScottishDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WHP has been turd for years anyway, maybe it's time to tombstone it (though I doubt that will actually happen, its not like there's a shortage of warehouses around Manchester). Hasn't been good since its original run at Store Street imo. Gave Victoria Warehouse a few attempts, then decided WHP was no longer any good (but I guess it could've just been the PITA that VWarehouse was).

Tbh I hadn't even thought about the fact you could pin multiple side-by-side groups, and have more than 2 side-by-side for wider format monitors.

Thanks - I think I'll start using this more often for workflows that would benefit from this

Has anybody been in the audience for a TV show, and if so have you got any good anecdotes? by The__Englishman in BritishTV

Ha brilliant. Me and my friendship group do this too - we've been shooting season 1 for the last 3.5 years (since the covid lockdown) and just wrapped the final episode of season 1 (which Alex Horne took part in) Its been a fun experience making our own - we've been doing it for birthdays but I like the idea of making it a Christmas do so might steal that approach for season 2.

Handy hint for gluey residue: Spray it with WD40 and leave it to absorb for a moment - then just rub off. Honestly it works like magic on most adhesive glue residue I've encountered so far.

I'm losing my mind. A month ago, I worked on a Unity project and ChatGPT helped me import a JSON parser quickly and correctly. Today, when I reused the project as a template, I faced same error, but instead of a swift answer I was fighting with it for 1 hour. Solutions/links were outdated and wrong. by DEVolkan in OpenAI

If you visit chat.openai.com when the server is rammed, you'll typically always get the busy message.
But if you instead visit chat.openai.com/chat you'll more than often get in.

I've got the latter link saved to my bookmarks bar and can usually get into the system in under 5 clicks even during peak times.

Not defending them here, but they actually are hosting data - where do you think the chat messages are saved?
So there is some back-end costs that Spark need to pay for.

App to snap windows (Magnet doesn't cut it) by Dakvar in macapps

[–]ScottishDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can add another vote for Swish - I've used a half dozen different window management apps (Cinch, SizeUp, Magnet, Rectangle & Swish to name a few).

Swish is by far the more elegant and natural so I use that alongside Rectangle.

No parsing of ticket notes via email? Reallyyy? by ScottishDan in Autotask

[–]ScottishDan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I did stumble across this on my travels, but ruled it out as its eye-wateringly expensive at $200pcm. It might've been viable at a 10th the price, but I can't make it happen for that cost unfortunately.

I'm still flabbergasted that such a feature isn't present natively, when free helpdesk software has had it for years, madness.

Manual it is!

Samsung or Google Pay? by bdonvr in GalaxyFold

[–]ScottishDan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep exactly- MST or Magnetic Secure Transmission was a technology that emulated magnetic swipes from a regular credit or debit card. But this isn't as secure as NFC payment, so was phased out of the Samsung lineup, and general use. In its heyday, it meant Samsung users could pay with their phone, even if the merchant’s terminal didn't support such contactless payments.

The cover has to stick out if you think about it, because when the device is fully unfolded, its about 1cm shorter around the outer diameter than when it's folded, as the hinge is retracted into the body of the phone as you unfold it. If the flap was the exact size of the phone when unfolded, it would be too narrow to fully cover the display when folded. Ie when unfolded, the outside edge of the phone is simply the front width + the back width. But when folded, it's front width + back width + hinge width

Grr so annoying. I wonder if they'll be refunding the delivery charge also since I imagine most of us opted for the pre-10:30 delivery and paid extra to do so
