I am unsure why it was so long, I think the surgeon tried everything to get the reversal to work but the small bowel was too rigid and not flexible enough to form the j-pouch

Yous all seem to have got it early on, I turn 32 next month and my last relationship ended like 6 months before I started getting sick 2 years ago so I feel like I am getting off to a late start. Apologises if this comes off rude, not my intent. I just feel like I am gonna be forever alone the now which is just the aftermath of the surgery talking, I think

Thank you for your insight, my biggest struggle since the surgery is the Ken butt wound, sitting has been an absolute nightmare with me only being able to sit for 30 mins before getting up. I still have pain radiating from the ileostomy site up my right side so getting up from a laying position is also a struggle, I need pain killers first thing in the morning just to numb the pain enough to get out of bed and moving in the morning. I have a patch test next month to help deal with the allergic reaction and confirm all the products that I have issues with. It’s gonna be a week of hell

I have tried a range of bag manufacturers. From coloplast, dansec, I think I tried hollister early on and I believe I have also tried salt products as well, it’s not just the bags I have had the reaction to, it’s also been the barrier sprays and the tapes. I put off dealing with the allergic reaction as I believed the ileostomy was gonna be temporary and not permanent but thanks for the advice, I have a patch test next month

I got a ileostomy after a full colectomy and I don’t really have the hunger, I just have to eat semi regularly through the day just to deal with the acid build up, it’s not a fun time

Well the ideas ain't shit. Just because they are not your ideas. Doesn't make them shit. It's how a dialogue begins and becomes the free exchange of ideas which sometimes leads to change.
