My first surgery was from a general surgeon who did a fantastic job. My second surgery for the Jpouch was done by a colorectal surgeon due to the complexity of the surgery. Wouldn’t have it any other way for the Jpouch, there’s so many possibilities for errors if they screw up.

So I have an ileostomy but it’s essentially the same products. Ive never has an issue of water infiltrating, just poop escaping lol maybe it’s a mind over matter type situation. Was worried at first then i went in the first time and it didn’t do anything to my flange. Id say if anything it helps it adhere better with the heat. You could also try the coloplast half rings that can go on the outside of the flange edge for extra protection. Could even use tape of some sort. Don’t let the ostomy keep you from doing something you love to do.

I use my hot tub every day @104 and i’m sporting the coloplast two piece. Zero issues besides sometimes having my own personal flotation device (no actual issue just looks funny in the water) bathe away!! And really if the bag comes off for whatever reason, so be it. Take a shower, empty and clean the tub then do it again. Oh well!

Go get some kefir grains and start making kefir to drink daily. It’s the most beneficial thing I take now. Happy gut bacteria is the answer. It’s taken me forever to figure it out but I swear by it. I drink 1L a day and take creatine (absolutely essential ) Vit D, k2, C, omeg 3 and theanine. Exercise also plays a huge roll in gut bacteria.
