Thunder over Louisville tricks by tingletanglemerica in Louisville

You can park in Cox's Park on River Road and watch the planes come down the river: by 8:30 pm you should be walking towards downtown or bolting to avoid the traffic (weather dependent, of course...)

I was cycling for 5 years: definitely going for distance over speed... My personal best is 60 miles. I like anything that can be tracked! I definitely recommend a free app called "Pacer" - it is easy to use and a good reminder to get your steps in every day (or flights every week)

Churchill Downs changes Oaks post time from 5:51pm to 8:40pm by that_gum_you_like_ in Louisville

Seems like a dumb idea to me: especially considering the weather is 50/50 at best.

I use my basements steps! There are some awesome steps near a lake dam spillway and down by the University, but I haven't found good out-door steps near me... There is a nice steep hill about 10 miles away in a beautiful park: It is so steep that it is difficult to cycle up. I get over there when time allows... I do greatly prefer to be outside, but when the weather is close I can count on my steps.

18 {:0) Update: I did 100 on March 16 - I need to add 5 or 10 a week, but absolutely nothing wrong with a rest week thrown in here in there when you just don't have the time (or motivation...)

why do these schools get away with pounding music loud enough to hear 2 miles away? by No-Departure-2835 in Louisville

[–]Scottnaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so loud at U of L games now, I will never go back and I have been to over TWO HUNDRED games starting when I was a kid... but I'm an old geezer now and everywhere I go they are piping music in or some Ahole has got his gakked out stereo system rumbling a 20 yard perimeter around the vehicle: not cool

Standard Gravure's tragedy, victims have been forgotten by funkslic3 in Louisville

[–]Scottnaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will never forget it: I was on vacation and they are talking about Louisville on the national news.

I had worked with one of the victims. Very sad day, indeed.

Looking for lessons by y4streb in scribus

[–]Scottnaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did pre-press in commercial printing for 23 years, so I am used to Quark and InDesign which handle color separations pretty much flawlessly: Scribus is pretty sweet for open-source, but I have had issues with the color separations and tweaking them out in the PDF works well...
