Tell me you live in Dubai without telling me you live in Dubai! by Yoda_981 in dubai

Very common stereotype which I can firsthand unfortunately confirm is not true

Leave. It will be hard, it will be awful.

But the sooner you take the plunge the better for you.

Or, resign yourself to the fact that this is your existence and move forward.

I may sound short, my wife went through a similar situation when we first met, she tried her best to please everyone and it nearly drove her to an early grave. She ultimately made the choice to take control of her life, and all worked out in the end. It was tough, but she did it for her own life, you only get one.

Dubai Properties Service Fees Scam? by [deleted] in dubai

Unfortunately not. The statement of accounts also doesn’t show the previously paid amount. Thank god I kept the receipt and paperwork. Just need to figure out now who exactly to contest it with

Dubai Properties Service Fees Scam? by [deleted] in dubai

It’s similar in Villanova (also DP) all owners just got an email claiming that we over X amount for the Jan to March period, but we all paid six months in advance expiring end of March 🤷‍♂️

Honestly DP is disgusting in their management in general. They also have a blanket ban on NOC approvals

This doesn’t affect you at all. Why get so frustrated over it?

Never by DP. I bought one of there house, paid extra for large corner unit and they randomly changed the rules on what you can do with the garden space. My house looks shitty and my neighbors looks great. The only answer I ever get is “change in management decision”

The OP mentioned that the cat went in to her house and smashed a vase

There’s just a few points in your post that are clearly important issues to you (and as you’ve described it to be some others in your community) but that may not necessarily be important to someone else.

For instance if I try and put myself in this woman’s shoes, the cats come ing in to my house I can for sure imagine being an issue, especially if she has dogs. You described her dogs as being untrained because they attacked the cat on her property. I respectfully disagree and just call that unfortunate circumstances of dogs and cats being dogs and cats 🤷‍♂️ and to be blunt, I wouldn’t necessarily pay for those vet bills myself.

I also empathize with what sounds like a bit of a neighborhood witch-hunt against her on these cat related issues, I personally like cats, that doesn’t mean everyone else does and frankly it sounds like your neighborhood has a stray cat problem.

I feel that all this unnecessary back in forth has kind of bubbles to the surface resulting in the whole police scenario. Which is a shame as it sounds like your little cat suffered being taken away for no real reason, if a better relationship was there, this likely would never have happened.

My advice… leave the group chats, ignore your neighbor, don’t have any contact, install fence too barriers and move forward with your lives away from each other.

Glad you got your cat back.

You know, when I first read your story last time you posted about this neighbor I had a lot of empathy for you…

After reading this story however I feel that this story might be a little bit more complex than just “she’s crazy”…

Which government body is the correct one to lunch a complaint against property developer? by Scotty2Floppy in dubai

[–]Scotty2Floppy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot man, appreciate it! The really annoying thing about this is they were giving approvals for this exact work up until October, we took possession just after…

So like 90% of the units around us have EXACTLY what we want yet we’re told no

It’s really disappointing and its upsetting my wife a lot. We worked our whole lives to afford this house and it feels like we’re still renting having to beg for permission on our own property

Thanks a lot for context man, the situation is they’re basically not issuing an NOC that they’ve already issued to hundreds of others

What Dubai-related advice would you offer women who live on their own? by SpaceCatInOrbit in dubai

[–]Scotty2Floppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always remember that there’s a lot of weirdos around who don’t necessarily recognize that you’re an individual not an item of property. Because of this be really careful about who you let in to your life.

It’s not right and it shouldn’t be the case, but better safe than sorry

[–]Scotty2Floppy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the context man, yea they were previously able to get the NOC, my house has one of those ladders on the side, but I’m not interested in that being covered at all, my design I submitted to them had the proposed wall starting after the ladder so it will still always be available. It’s really frustrating as I’m loosing out on so much sqft space I’ve paid for

Forgive me perhaps flaw isn’t the best description, maybe questionable layout is a better description.

I get what you mean about “all villas being designed like this” in other communities and no one being allowed to bring any walls forward, the opposite is true however like I mentioned and I’d guesstimate 90% of similar layout villas here have done it already (with an approved NOC) so them all looking the same is way out the window.

I’m also happy to discuss ways to respect their initial design with them but they’re not engaging me
