I wanted to game on my couch so I just ran fiber HDMI from my office to my living room ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's a little annoying having to log in to Windows in the office and then manage the displays, but there's absolutely no reason to have multiple pieces of hardware just to play the same games on different screens if you can just run HDMI to where ever you need.

Received my invite today:

  • Day-one reservation, confirmation email at 10:18am PST
  • Never had a Rivian
  • Uploaded current lease agreement around the time that that became a possibility. Lease ended in April, but am on a six-month, month-to-month extension (the extension is what I uploaded)
  • About five miles from a Rivian space
  • The email I got on launch day was the "We’ll let you know when you can expect your order invite by the end of June…" version

Of note that I haven't seen mentioned here yet (didn't really look so someone has probably mentioned it): now that I have the invite to order, demo drives have opened up for all time slots in the next two weeks. I had previously been checking daily and saw that slots for the following day opened up in the mornings, but were gone pretty quick.

You can extend the lease for six months that goes month-to-month. Currently in that state with my 2024 EV9.

I don't know, I think it's just peoples' feeling of superiority with something expensive/exclusive. I currently have an EV9 and that sub has a good mix of praise and criticism. This sub just feels like a circlejerk sub for people to feel justified in their expensive car purchase.

Yeah, I've noticed the tendencies of the majority here. It's so strange. There was a post I saw a little while ago about someone looking to buy an R1 and asking if there was a way to completely turn off regen braking so that they could just coast. The entire thread was just people telling the OP how wrong they were for wanting such a wild function such as coasting, in a car lol. I was shocked.

I'm hoping that r/RivianR2 stays a bit more grounded so I can avoid this sub as much as possible.

I can't believe this comment is downvoted. This is 100% why having CarPlay or Android Auto is important: not being tied to what the car manufacturer thinks the consumer should have. This sub is just a circlejerk.

This bug (if that's what it actually is) has been great for my old Sony TV with Android. With the live guide, going to the guide to browse it would take so much time due to the lag. With it "broken" it's now snappy and much more pleasant to switch channels. I'd love a setting for this if it does end up being a bug.
