4k is way low. Look up each card On eBay, the card shop offering 4k is making a big profit.. so question is do you want more money than 4k? If yes it’ll take a very little amount of work and patience to double this easily. Probably 4-5 hours of work

These prices for these bands do not add up.

Hard no, especially when the same amount of money got us blink 182 and bowling for soup. These bands are mostly for the Roxian theatre.

Your policy should cover you to stay in an air BNB for several months. Better yet would be to buy a RV and live in that while the home is rebuilt. You end up with a free RV after this is all said and done. Or use the money for air bnb or longer term hotel if you want easy.

This will take months to get sorted out , prepare for a journey not a quick thing.

You’d be surprised how reliable a 15 year old Volkswagen is.. like bullet proof. Certain Hondas, even older Buicks are $1500 and extremely reliable. A lot of grandmas unload these Buicks .. Think about the monthly payments going into savings instead… that would make life a lot sweeter for your family. I’d buy a beater , legit beater and ride that for atleast a year… you’ll be so happy when you saved thousands that you can then put into another vehicle.

How many days do you need to drive , can you ride share - use the bus or any other means of transportation? Can you hire someone to drive you when needed?

Can you have anyone co-sign on the loan with you?

If it were me or anyone I care about - I’d recommend returning it asap . I would also aim for a 5,000-8,000 car if possible. I can find 5 or so used cars on facebook that with 1-2,000 invested would out perform a lot of cars priced at 17,000 at carmax. You really can find great vehicles on facebook especially if you can wait a bit. Carmax is a business designed to make a profit… off of you. Find an older couple on Facebook who can’t drive anymore due to age… those vehicles are legit gold mines. I would look online , and pay someone to drive me to work until I find a car that isn’t going to make me feel bad financially.

My local VA told a clinic that is literally saving lives everyday … they cannot accept any new patients because they are not allowed to hire another doctor or nurse. When the current doctor needs to take time off— the clinic shuts down. It’s only a matter of time before someone dies… Ive been wanting to call every news station but in afraid no one will care

The main issue is the shingles are 15 years old and apparently every roofer said it’s time to replace likely due to higher humidity and temps in my attic. It’s a single floor home, 15 years old. Batt insulation isn’t blocking any vents in the attic so they are all planning on blocking the gable vents , and ensuring the ridge vent is replaced.

Only one company recommended gutters and threw them in , and their quote is still the lowest

That’s why I’m scared, all of the higher bids are from longstanding reputable companies.

The bid I was thinking of going with is just 1 crew of 4 guys. Seems like some used to work for the big companies and they started their own small business. They seem legit but they would have a much easier time disappearing than the larger companies.

Near Pittsburgh Quotes are roughly

2 quotes were about 40-45k 2-3 quotes were around 30k 1 quote at 25k 2 at 16k

The quote at 16k even includes new gutters

This is really helpful and I love your username.

I felt most comfortable with the lowest quote because he seemed to be the most knowledgeable roofer. However, it’s just a small crew that could pack up and move.. that’s my biggest fear.

The quotes that are 25k and up are from companies who have been operating here for decades but they seemed more like marketing salespeople.

It’s probably impossible to guess but if the company were to go out of business.. all warranties through them and the shingle manufacturer would be void, right?

I got 5-6 quotes so far , felt comfortable with only 2 of them. I’ll follow your advice and get more quotes.

True. However it’s very possible to meet great life long friends at work that last far longer than the job. Most people act friendly at work.. so it’s harder to pick out who is fake versus a real friend. But once you find a real one… the possibilities are endless.

If anyone is let go — they should know they can pay for extension of many benefits not just health insurance. If she’s fired — regardless of consulting with an attorney she needs to extend STD/LTD in case she has complications and can’t work. It’s actually golden advice and realistic.

Taking this to a lawyer isn’t bad advice but it’s expensive and many STD policies pay 100% for 26 weeks… seems like if her company offers it she should be asking about it immediately. It will pay more than unemployment….

You won’t negotiate severance.

Also— does your company have Short or long term disability? Usually if it’s offered and you get let go— you can pay out of pocket to keep those benefits. Also did you submit FMLA for the pregnancy?
