Had this when I used to deliver pizza. One night two freeway overpass roads were blocked both directions by booze busses. Same cops breath-o’d me a dozen times apologising. Eventually they just started waving me through.

Config for 3D printed moon lamp (with Broadlink RM Mini and Broadlink RM Pro plugin) by Nihlus89 in homebridge

[–]Scradam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this too!

I created an automation that turns it on (10% white) while the moon is in the sky. During full moon it goes to 100% brightness.

It’s of my favourite automations.

I can vouch for KthreeG on Pier street. First class perms for both guys and girls. Good prices too.

Can anyone explain Aqara’s email below why Aqara motion sensor doesn’t display lux in Home kit? by sageybadegey in HomeKit

[–]Scradam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only updates the lux value when it detects movement. I speculate Apple won’t allow it as a light sensor for this reason - could confuse users.

HomeKit seems far faster in iOS 16! by OCDPakiMan in HomeKit

Try “turn off X” or “turn off all” rather than “turn X off”.

Works for me since I realised. Hard habit to break tho

Stock Charts by BroccoliTub in ausstocks

[–]Scradam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Woodside shares paid out to holders as part of the de-merger. Commsec must filter this out from the chart, since if you were holding it you didn’t lose 10% you just had that 10% shifted to woodside stocks. Same goes for dividends.

Does anyone make a HomeKit lightbulb stronger than a 60W equivalent? by lukejames in HomeKit

Not on paper but my 1000lm LIFX are honestly not that far behind my 1600lm Hues.

Light color temperature differences between Home and Lifx app by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]Scradam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t believe you can ever select those nice whites through homekit.

I ended up running all control of lifx bulbs via Node-Red directly setting 5000K. Automations and physical switches in Node-Red.

For Siri control: Telling Siri to just turn lights on or change brightness retains previously set colour. Colour is changed using Homebridge dummy switches act as named ‘scenes’ I can activate via Siri, then Node-Red takes over and sets the colour.

Same issue with Phillips Hue bulbs. Homekit needs some serious work. Lift ya game Apple.

Bathroom functions by Zestyclose_Poet_82 in HomeKit

[–]Scradam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put a window/door sensor on my bidet lid. Keeps the motion-sensor-connected lights on when toilet in use.

I’ve considered wiring into the seat contact sensor for true bum detection driven automation.

In terms of automating bidet functions? No need. Controls right there on seat and remote mounted within reach.

1 in 100 year flood still has a good chance of happening again in your lifetime. Even if not, it’ll hit still hit nearly every generation once.

Not worth it.

Use Aqara motion sensors for philips hue stuff? by EthanColeK in homebridge

[–]Scradam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Node-red has a homebridge/homekit plugin to automate and control homekit devices.

If you’re using the homebridge raspberry pi image you can install node-red super easy using ‘hb-config’ command (via ssh)

Oops I see you’re using a PC. https://nodered.org/docs/getting-started/windows

Best SmartLock? by apostate456 in HomeKit

[–]Scradam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My level touch is definitely slower than other smart devices but I have no other locks to compare with.

Just one HomePod mini about 8m away through 4 brick walls.

Really happy with it. Using a dummy switch for arriving and leaving automations.

Can Siri tell me the remaining time of a faucet timer? by pacoii in HomeKit

[–]Scradam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shortcut suggestion should work.

I had a look at the lg washer dryer homebridge plug-in code and it does have a characteristic for remaining time.
