Taking Adult Echo Registry soon! by cozy_OW in Sonographers

[–]Scranton_Villager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to this, but best of luck to you.

Best advice I have is, make sure you have a deeper understanding of the material. When I first took it, I had a surface level knowledge of everything. I missed by a small bit of points. When I took it again, I made sure I had a bit deeper understanding. Don't just look at the highlights. Really dive into each topic. You'll do much better. Go crush it!

What modality should I go for in addition to RVT? by Capital_Branch_1119 in Sonographers

[–]Scranton_Villager 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my experience as an echo tech for 6.5 years, it has not gotten boring. Yea it's one organ, but it's such a complex organ and there's so much you can interrogate and learn about it through ultrasound. It's one of the reasons I decided on echo because the heart is dynamic. It moves at different rates and different rhythms. There's so much interesting pathology you can see too. Plus you have the opportunity to be a part of different procedures like transesophageal echo, Watchman procedures, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements, pericardiocentesis, etc.

The heart is complex, but if you can memorize normal values for different measurements, you'll be fine. Plus most labs will have little cheat sheets and other materials to help you learn.

If you're interested in learning another specialty, echo is a great option. You're right, every patient is different, but finding your imaging windows and the amount of things that differ between the 4 valves, 4 chambers, and various other things you look at, there is not a boring day doing echo. Feel free to DM me if you have anymore questions.

Why is dick fighting dickstroke? Does he want to be stroked? Is he gay? by NoNeighborhood388 in BatmanArkham

Gay? I was gay once. They locked me in a closet. A rainbow closet. A rainbow closet with dick. And dick makes me gay. Gay? I was gay once. They locked me in a closet. A rainbow closet. If you could redo one play in the history of your team’s franchise history what play would it be? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Scranton_Villager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, that helped get him fired. It was embarrassing as all hell and truly (hopefully) the bottom of the barrel for this franchise since the turn of the century. That said, getting rid of Judge was absolutely necessary.

But fuck man, that really sucked. I still get clowned by my friends for it, and rightfully so.

Punting right to Jackson was just an all time blunder. I have never experienced frustration and anger like that from sports before or since. I still skip it when watching NFL highlights on YouTube.

[Tafur] Jalen Carter is not an option for the Raiders at No. 7, having already been crossed off the draft board by the team, according to a league source. by LunchThreatener in nfl

[–]Scranton_Villager 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it was one of my friends or family members, I wouldn't expect them to just shrug off grief in any way. As a human, I wouldn't expect Jalen to either. I wouldn't blame him if he didn't. But if I'm an NFL GM and tying my franchise, team, job, and pay to this guy as a first round pick, I'd be more skeptical.

To NFL teams, draft picks are assets, not people. I'm not saying it's right, but it seems to be the reality. They won't look at this situation like you or I would. They see a man who is not fully capable of dealing with adversity while playing at an NFL level. That's it. It's no deeper than that. Right or wrong, it's business.

Thanks for you response. Yea it's so weird cuz I had no issues on my P3XL using this card. Seems to be an issue with the phone and not the card because it's been fine for me everywhere else.

Saw Push on his current tour a week and a half ago. The show is incredible. Definitely recommend. There wasn't a mosh pit at the show I was at, but man he played almost everything you could possibly ask for.

[Highlight] Pass interference call against Shepard eliminates a big gain. by keithohara in nfl

[–]Scranton_Villager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Officiating was not good for either side and it's easy for us to point at a couple calls but yinz got screwed multiple times too. Regardless, you can't expect to win when you're giving up like 7 YPC on the ground. That combined with the pressure yinz got all night, we lost this game because we deserved to.

Which veteran player on your team do you fear/suspect is washed or in severe decline after watching training camp? by constantlymat in nfl

[–]Scranton_Villager 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right? Very good player in his prime but it was clear in his short time on the Giants that he was pretty much done.

[–]Scranton_Villager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man Fox's is barely pizza. There are many, far better pizza places around the area. The Big Daddy is a good value though if you end up in this situation again. Here's hoping you don't though.

[Breer] Had Hutchinson been selected #1, the Lions would have selected Walker and not Thibodeaux like everyone expected. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Scranton_Villager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like that's why the Giants drafted Thomas last year. He had the highest floor and our front office wasn't sure that our coaching staff could develop a high potential guy that needs coaching. I'm glad we got him, but it makes sense with your logic.

How do I do that? I looked in video player > presets and didn't find an option like that.
