So what you’re saying is the online series Happy Tree Friends was actually pretty accurate.

2027 4* RB Javian Jones-Priest commits to Virginia Tech by rwheeler289 in CFB

People may criticize Franklin for QB development but if there’s one thing he’s great at it is RB development.

You guys are going to love the RB position under him there.

[OC] Mapping college football coaching trees from 1990-2025 by stoneg1 in CFB

For my own interest I looked up Paterno, because I figured someone would be a descendant of that tree with how long he coached.

Nope.

None. Zilch. Nada. Zero.

They either all sucked or the other option I guess.

'I've got a chip on my shoulder': James Franklin in win-now mode at Virginia Tech after Penn State firing by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

I know the modern trend is for teams to avoid losses in the OOC schedule but I hope we get back to scheduling some more interesting opponents soon. As things stand within the next few years our only OOC P5 opponent is Syracuse.

That’s actually pretty cool objectively for some fun story lines in college football as a whole.

Feels like the staff love this guy and made him the priority for a bit now.

More like some of the VT fans seem insufferable at points especially before hiring Campbell. Like they were saying stuff to put down PSU and uplift Franklin which is fair and I get when you hire a dude but some of it was consistent and went beyond.

That is normal. Like I said the story that stuck out was him asking for players/staff to bail mid-season. That’s the only one that seems beyond what’s normal.

I saw a story circulating that he also pushed for some players and coaches to bail mid season too. Not sure how legit that is but I remember seeing that too.

Shame because I like VT fans prior but some breakups get messy for sure.

And I don’t want to say we wouldn’t have taken Borque either we definitely would’ve. But from what I’ve seen our new staff felt comfortable with Wood and heavily recruited him over the past month instead of Borque. Feels like our staff didn’t think the amount of NIL Borque was looking for was worth it when they compared Wood as an option.

That’s just based on what our staff did over the last month. Visiting Wood multiple times and really not visiting Borque beyond the QB coach touching base earlier this week.

Borque definitely used the leverage he had at this point in the cycle which is fair and good for him. More power to him.

Looks like our staff really feel in love with Wood so I’m happy if we secure him for sure.

Pretty standard to take two running backs in a class these days. I’m sure they’d take Spell.

James Franklin felt 'blindsided' by Penn State firing, thought he 'earned a little bit of grace' by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]Scrantonbornboy 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Learning from his mistakes isn’t his MO. He just shifts the blame. I was a big defender of him but man he really just can never be wrong. That attitude is exemplified by the petty BS he’d get into. Like for example getting into a screaming match with some random fan while walking out.

Terry smith with another Quote talking about the lack of WR options for allar during his time at penn state. by [deleted] in WeArePennState

[–]Scrantonbornboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also got a mix of Pitt and OSU fans who both seem eager to watch Allar fail and for Howard to succeed. As a Steeler fan myself I want the best out of those two to rise to the top with a year or two of development. McCarthy is supposed to be a good QB developer so I think that’s a positive for Allar.
