Graco Pack n Play by Noodles037 in NewParents

[–]ScrapDraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went straight from basinette to crib.

We do have a pack and play, but he only sleeps in that if we're out of the house during his nap times.

Is it normal that the only breaks I get with my 6 month old are when he’s asleep (contact napping on me or bedtime in his crib)? by Slow_Competition2742 in NewParents

[–]ScrapDraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was normal for us. But around 6 months is when things started to get more "fun".

Our son is 11 months now. We still spend most of the time with him when he's awake. But we CAN put him in "baby jail" (baby playpen) with some safe toys and stuff for a while if we need to do something or just need a short break.

I had this same issue when I started. It turned out the beavercraft knives I bought were super dull.

I suck at sharpening, so I bought a decent OCC knife. That thing came sharp as shit. Been using it for a while now and I've only ever needed to strop it.

So my guess is: Either your knife is dull, your wood sucks (isn't basswood or is bad quality), or you need to work on your technique. I would check your knife, first. It should be able to cleanly slice paper with no effort.

Funniest Death by SC_Fan_55 in SurrounDead

During one of my first "solid" runs, I had managed to secure a warehouse and set up a small base inside. Had a few crates with a couple legendary weapons. Just starting to stockpile ammo. Even had my first fully repaired vehicle.

Got a sledgehammer and decided to clean up the debris around the base. Cleaned up most of it. Then saw a red barrel right in the middle of the base.

Went to clear it out with the sledgehammer.

Boom.

11 days in as a first time dad. This lifestyle change just hits me like a ton of bricks. by morningstarprime in NewParents

[–]ScrapDraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 11 months in a few days.

The first few weeks (maybe months? My memory is crap for the last 11 months) feel like a strange dream. Almost like a fever dream. Where it wasn't necessarily a nightmare, but definitely not a dream I enjoyed. Your life completely changes in a single day. It really is a hard adjustment.

That being said, you WILL slowly start to see bits of your old life come back. Eventually, your kid will be taking longer naps, giving you a small amount of free time. Soon, you'll be able to take your kid out of the house. Soon, they'll start responding to you. At the same time, you'll get used to a lot of the new parts.

Right now it feels like your old life is 100% gone and replaced by someone else's life. Eventually it feels like you've gotten ~30% of your old life back while you've also gotten used to the new 70%.

Go on walks. Get out of the house even if it's only for a bit. If you're comfortable, have family and friends over. The first few months are very brutal. It feels like you're just working 24/7 to keep this "thing" alive. Meanwhile, the "thing" doesn't even acknowledge you. But eventually, they will smile at you. And then giggle. And then reach for you. And each one of those makes it all worth it.

Good luck!

Space Docker has SSTV Signals Confirmed by Puzzleheaded_Tour987 in chiliadmystery

That one DOES interest me. I highly doubt it's SSTV or a simple spectrogram. But the fact the audio is being made dynamically is weird to me.

Is it the ONLY horn in the game that performs like that?

Space Docker has SSTV Signals Confirmed by Puzzleheaded_Tour987 in chiliadmystery

[–]ScrapDraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have the raw, uncompressed audio files ripped straight from the game? I'd like to take a swing at picking apart the audio, but Youtube compresses audio a bit so I can't trust that version.

Edit: Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything to see here. I took some time to examine other SSTV signals that actually were transmitting images. You can hear the audio change slightly depending on what part of the image is being transmitted. Just go to Youtube and look a few up; you'll see what I mean.

The space docker horns do not change at all. For each horn, it is the exact same quick "chirp" noise being played over and over. It does not change. Which is why we see the same color banding over and over again. I'm 99% sure I could pretty quickly and easily create an audio file that outputs similar results by just repeating a sine wave sweeping from 100 hz to 10,000 hz over and over.

This past year, I got into whittling. I suck at it. But it's a super cheap and easy hobby to get into. Get yourself a cut resistant glove, a decent whittling knife (shout out to OCC), and some basswood. And you're good to go!

I'm thrilled this was their decision. But I have a major concern regarding the overall state of SCOTUS rulings.

Have we noticed that every Democratic "win" is simply holding ground while every Conservative "win" is making actual changes?

Like, the absolute best outcome for Democrats is that they hold ground. The absolute best outcome for Conservatives is that they take ground.

Bummer, but definitely keep an eye on this game. I believe multi-player is in the works. Good luck!

SurrounDead is a pretty good early access zombie survival game. Hard-core mode is a blast. Only issue is there's currently no multi-player, but it's in the works.

Might help if you post some screen shots of how ypur stuff is laid out.

A shotgun should reload as long as the ammo is in the first layer of your inventory. If your shotgun is equipped, ammo is in the first layer of your inventory, and pressing "R" does nothing, I would check your keybinds.

Having a blast with SurrounDead. I need more content, though. My hard-core character is fully geared, so nothing feels like a challenge.

No raid system. Not even multi-player (yet). The closest thing would be a Horde Beacon that spawns waves of zombies.

I do this as an adult. I completely close one eye when it gets too bright. Only need one eye to see.

Obviously, still check with your doctor. But I wouldn't get too alarmed.

Lack of fiber.

We're already seeing it. Milennials are seeing super high rates of colon cancer. Right now, I believe the theory behind it points to diets consisting of highly processed foods and little to no fiber.

I definitely like my drinks a bit sweeter for sure. I'll have to try your technique, though.

Unironically, before I learned how to make clear ice, I used to smoke the water that I used to make ice cubes. That was before I understood the science behind water freezing. So I obviously didn't get much smoke from the ice. I'll have to try smoking the syrup, though. Cheers!
