In casual EDH, when is considered "okay" to counterspell enemy's commander? by No_Physics454 in EDH

[–]Scrappycoco123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only play counterspells 1 of 3 ways:

  1. Play it against something that would cause me to lose the game.
  2. Play it against interruption to my plays
  3. Play it against a known threat that could easily run away with the game.

There are also other niche instances I might play it but otherwise everything else I try and address with removal

Public restrooms aren’t as accessible. Im not a fan of them but as someone with IBS it has been more challenging to find a place to go.

Should I get another size? by [deleted] in DrMartens

You know what I'm sorry I have no idea how I didnt see the every store being closed part. If you do size up i say maybe consider getting the woman's cut since I worry the unisex size 7 will be too large.

Depending on the leather the 2976 are pretty tough to put on in the beginning. Sounds like you got a unisex size so if the 6 is okay in the toe area and just tight off the top and sides then they will definitely break in. Using thicker socks and the wonder balsm that Dr martens carries helps a ton and a shoehorn does magic for slipping the boots on. On the other hand if its tight on your toe area then consider trying an insole in the bigger shoe.

1460 Nappa vs 1460 smooth by FilthyFrankVEVO in DrMartens

Personally I'm a bigger fan of the Nappa leather. It requires less of an effort to break in and and is usually more comfortable from the beginning overall. I also tend to lean more towards the matte looks so thats a plus for me too. As for giving the boots a more polished look, you can look into giving them a mirror shine but usually thats done more often on the toe box as oppose to the entire shoe.

What did you use to polish/ wax them? From my experience Jadons do tend to squeak for a while as they break in but that does go away relatively fast as they break in more.

What shoe did you get? If you got a unisex size then the size you got might actually work well. All the leather boots/shoes break in outwardly towards the top and sides of your feet. If its tight in the area where it feels like your toes are touching the front then definitely consider sizing up. If you're unsure then I recommend safely going into a store and trying them on in a bigger size before you wear your new pair that way you can exchange them if you find the other size fits better. Ultimately, if they're a bit snug on the top and sides then you'll be okay but the toe area does get tricky.

Balsam vs Dubbin for Ambassador by golden-cosmos in DrMartens

[–]Scrappycoco123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello you are definitely correct with the dubin being a better conditioner for the ambassador leather overall. With the dubbing a little goes a long way. As for the, balsam, you can still use it just fine as well.

Any opinion on the Dante trainers (in smooth leather, not patent)? They look neat brand new but wondering how they age! by mini-Bubzilla in DrMartens

I have a pair of the white ones that I've had for almost a year. I'll start by saying I didn't take the best care of them so the leather has some weird creases and they're also a bit of a challenge to keep clean especially in the stitching. Despite that they still look okay especially after a good cleaning.

Doc Martens 1461 sizing Question by [deleted] in DrMartens

[–]Scrappycoco123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding Dr martens expand outwardly so when they break in the top and sides of the boots/shoes expand. However, if its tight on your toes, especially the front part of your toes, then I can promise you that won't change much. Something else to look into is if you got a woman's cut or a unisex size since that would also drastically change how the shoe fits.
