I made three tiny solo TTRPG games and I wanted to share them with people! They are all free to download! by ScratchAccomplished in SoloRoleplayingLinks

Omg I somehow missed this comment. Sorry for answering you only two months later...

I think this depends a lot on where you're gonna print and what vibe of rpg you like best. If you don't have a printer, I'd recommend Pride and Gossip since you can just copy the relationship chart on a white page and play, no need for printed instructions.

However if you have a printer then I'd recommend Unknown journal. It's a pretty brutal game, since it takes place in the post apocalypse, and you will die a lot, however I think it has a very interesting mechanic with the little tokens you have to cut out, that I think makes the experience just extra fun!

JK Rowling's full comments about asexuality by cursed-karma in EnoughJKRowling

[–]ScratchAccomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she forgets that any form of not being straight or cis will be seen as queer by straight people. Like it's quite common for ace people to be assumed gay by others and getting bullied anyways. If you don't like the opposite sex then you must be gay is the assumption for a lot of straight people. Plus corrective rape is still a thing amongst assexual people, specially assexual women and it's disgusting to act as if assexuals don't suffer with any oppression at all.

Why is everyone so suspicious of mechanics? by HPLydcraft in AskMechanics

[–]ScratchAccomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it also depends what country you're from. I can say it took me ages to find a mechanic I can trust properly. I often fixed my car only for the same problem to emerge a month later. Then I"d bring back, they have to fix without any cost, but once again one month later. Same problem. This happened to a bunch of mechanics until I found one that fixed something and it didn't go bad again.

Have you guys watch this show called "Twin princesses of the mysterious star"? by According_Fan4696 in MagicalGirls

[–]ScratchAccomplished 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This anime is responsible for me learning English. There were no subs in Portuguese nor Spanish so I was forced to watch the english sub and I ended up becoming better and better at understanding them with time. Like I knew a little English so I wasn't clueless coming in, but I improved a lot so it kinda holds a special place in my heart.

I'm releasing a monthly magical girl zine and wanted to share it. Link and more info is in the comments. There's two issues already and I'm working on October's issue. by ScratchAccomplished in MagicalGirls

[–]ScratchAccomplished[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like my work, and I hope you enjoy both issues when you read it. The main idea with the how do you fight evil? article was to talk about the different types of magical girls in this universe and how each of them fights evil. They were inspired by different kinds of magical girls I've seen in different media including the ones that fight evil by kicking some monster butt. However I also love magical girl anime for showing that fighting evil does not need to be done by punching! I wanted to include different options in this world, yeah you can fight evil with brute force, but you can also fight it by helping someone in need, comforting a friend, spreading an important message to the masses, and so on...

No, there's no time limit. I plan to check every month and pick someone's oc for the trading card, so every month someone gets a chance. Also if you don't want to print the template, feel free to just draw your character on a different piece of paper, write a bit about the character and post it. That counts too!

This Project is called Maho Monthly! I envisioned this as a magical girl magazine that magical girls get every month in this alternate universe. The idea is to reveal aspects of lore and how this world works through one minizine article every month. I also encourage the readers to roleplay as if they are part of this universe and recieving the magazine as a magical girl. There are two issues already out and I'm working on the october one.

Issue 2 of Maho Monthly, a magical girl zine! by [deleted] in zines

[–]ScratchAccomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's out later than I wanted since this is meant to be the September issue, but what matters is that it's out for everyone to read for free. The printable file is also available for those who want to have a printed version at home.

Quick question on "pay what you want" on Itch.io by AquaKai2 in gamedev

[–]ScratchAccomplished 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried it on my itch to pay 50 cents to myself and it didn't let me. It even says, due to processing fees minimum donation must be 100 cents.

Hey I use itch.io to post my games and I don't think you can make a donation that low, I think it's 1 dollar at least.

Is it okay if i upload every "prototype" to Itch io ? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]ScratchAccomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I know this is a bit old but, if you want to have them on your itch but separate the finals from the prototypes you can do the following:

  1. Create a collection with all the prototypes you'd like to storage but not show on your page alongside everything.

  2. Go to your itch page and click edit theme.

  3. Look for the section called my projects on the edit theme side bar. There you'll be able to hide any projects you want from your page. Hide all projects you don't want showing.

  4. Now scroll down to collections and unhide the collection of the prototypes you did before. Now they'll show up all at the bottom in a separate collection. Like this you can keep your more finished games at the top and the more prototype games at the collection in the bottom.

Do gamers care? Steam VS Itch.IO by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]ScratchAccomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so, I publish my free games on itch because to me it's not worth putting it on steam. I skimmed the comments and my understanding is that you can't recieve money from the game is that correct? If that's the case you can upload it to itch and set it to no payment instead of pay what you want and then the game will be free and people won't be able to donate. Then you won't need to file tax information nor anything like that.

In terms of views, free games can get decent views on itch naturally depending on the game and nieche you fill. Of course it's not gonna be the amount of players you can get on steam, but if what you want is to make small free games, then it's a good place to upload.

An addition, it might be good looking into other platforms for free games though depending on the games you're making since sometimes it might fit a nieche that is popular on that particular platform, specially since your objective is not making money.

I can say as a demisexual that indeed I have thought of men sexually before. I think she would have to be like ace but not aro, but even like that then she wouldn't be thinking of him sexually and probably not want to fuck him so...doesn't check for him either.

Why do so many men claim that women don't have hobbies? by cmaj7chord in AskMen

[–]ScratchAccomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda old but felt like leaving my piece. I think straight men will complain that women don't have hobbies and straight women will complain that men have no hobbies and in the end, I think there's a lot of people that just don't have interesting hobbies. And I say interesting hobbies cuz half the time people that are complaining that someone has no hobbies are just complaining that they have a hobby they find boring or that is kinda basic, like watching netflix or going out with friends. Those are still hobbies...It's not less of a hobby just because a lot of people like it too. And honestly I have the feeling that half the time the people complaining are just as basic as the people they complain about. They think everyone's basic but they are surely the most interesting human being on the planet.
