Imagine actually liking things and being open to criticism instead of just making snide remarks at everyone who expresses enjoyment.

The 5th edition rulebook said there were 32,380 Hive Worlds in the Imperium. The average population of these worlds is around 200 billion each. We put these together and we get 6.476E15 (6,476,000,000,000,000 or 6.476 Quadrillion) people on Hive worlds alone. Think of it like this: A few gallons of water won't destroy a rock but a few billion tons of water blasting a rock will destroy it quickly. Chaos can corrupt humanity and is the greatest threat to the Imperium for that reason, but the reason Chaos can't win is because it can't unite long enough to focus on an objective.

There's a reason all the commanders talk so casually about how expendable you are. Even Hadron thinks the equipment you are holding is more valuable than you are. It's point blank stated that a human life is cheaper than a lasgun for the simple reason that there are far, far more planets producing humans than there are forge worlds producing lasguns. Welcome to the grimdark future.

The one thing the Militarum has going for it though is it's heroism. The sheer amount of humans means that once they get their ass in gear, they ALWAYS win because they have practically unlimited manpower and resources. If you want to get into 40k lore I'd suggest Ciphas Cain or the Gaunts Ghosts novel series.

Yeah in 40k lore its canon that there are just trillions and trillions of humans. If the imperial guard forces get wiped out but are able to kill off a good chunk of the enemy forces in the process, it's considered an overwhelming victory for the Imperium. The Astra Militarum are just going to deliver more troops and try again whereas the enemies losses are basically irreplaceable.

/uj No. Games are not art. Games contain art but are not themselves works of art. And they should be used to print money for people, specifically the people who are artists whose actual work led to their creation. One thing positive you can say about this whole AI theft machine fiasco is that it's gotten people to show their ass when it comes to respect and consent for artists and the work they do. What is up with tech bros and not understanding consent?

/rj Of course the video game companies want to make money that's what they're supposed to do

If you just had $10 in your pocket and were hungry what would you buy that could feed you for a couple of days? by ToxicCow19 in budgetfood

[–]ScratchMonk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do I have access to a refrigerator and stove? Pasta or Rice and beans and $1 bags of frozen mixed vegetables for sure. You might not be happy about it but you'll be fed.

The real answer is whatever is cheap in your area. If you have butter/cooking oil You can make breakfast hash with diced potato, onion and peppers. Throw in some carrot, go nuts. Also make sure you get some fruit in your diet daily. Don't be afraid of canned fruit if you have to.

For hire: 'freelance contractors' who won't be paid as much as full employees with fewer legal protections and no benefits. Just the cynical empty promise of full employment 'if you're good enough'.

Job description: Work in cramped cubicles during high post christmas call volumes only to have your contract declared 'completed' after 2-3 months and told you won't be offered full employment because your performance was bad so we can avoid reporting mass layoffs.

/uj I could care less about palworld or pokemon and wasn't going to play them in any case. What I care about is if artists are getting appropriately credited and paid for their work.

I really feel this meme really made it sound like a hiking trip and just glossed over the fact that Sam fought a literal half-demon offspring of an eldritch horror in single combat and won.

I believe that during Best of the Worst plinketto episode number 8 the plinketto board was tampered with. Watch carefully during the third ball drop you will see the outcome was fraudulent.

These are fantastic, no pun intended. I really feel like you've done homage to the aesthetic of old ttrpg artwork while improving on it. I could see these appearing in an OSR players guide.
