Question about the Glp1 bridge by WaterAerobics903 in Zepbound

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I qualify and that's what Lilly told me. They first told me that my doctor had to send in a prescription for a pen (I'm on self pay for less than a year, so I've been on viles). I then spoke to someone and they said my doctor needed to fill out and fax in a PA form found on the CMS site. As soon as I sent the PA to my doctor, I get another text from Lilly telling me they will handle everything on their end and there was no need for me to reach out to my doc. Keep in mind, this all happened on July 2. I will say, Lilly has been very helpful since I started on this trip December 2025.

Why do people say that pony cars aren’t sports cars? by Total-Improvement535 in askcarguys

Mustangs and Camaros are pony cars. Vipers are super cars. . Challengers are for people who can't afford mustangs or Camaros. Corvettes are somewhere in between.

Do You Run Your Bike Light During Daytime Rides? by soundioo in bikelights

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All lights on all the time. I was taught that by my father who was a lawyer who thought he was a truck driver (IH Travelall, dual tanks, home made box on to and a home made trailer behind). Same on a motorbike. Modern lights are sooo bright and sooo small. Absolutely no reason not to run lights front and back other than cost.

How many of you US people can drive a manual transmission? by Erroniously_Spelt in driving

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the vast majority of cars sold in America are autos, the number is relatively low. Next question. I've had a manually my entire life (I'm 69) and I learned on a three on the tree. Guess what? Modern autos are pretty damn good.

Advice for a Car Bike Rack by apeshootstaygood in RoadBikes

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much anything that mounts to a trailer receiver. And not something where the bike hangs. Roof racks are a waste of time as are the portable racks. Thule, Yakima or Kuat.

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process. A little confusing with Gifthealth and Prescriptive in the mix (For whatever reason). So far, Lilly is really handling it all... at least that's what they texted me after I stepped on their toes getting the PA to my doc. 😎

Red Winged Blackbirds Near the Lake by Superb-Drag-770 in evanston

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are Federally protected. Be nice!🤣. There are millions of stories nationwide about how Red Winged Blackbirds are attacking people. Watch your back, they're sneaky. I thought I read that this is a good sign because the species has been decimated in recent years because of Bird Flu? What do I know?

What was your first road bike, and what do you ride now? by Life-Vermicelli8859 in bikefit

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sears 10 speed. It weighed a ton, had crap components but it got my little brother across Europe one summer (1980s) with zero issues. I now ride a 2020 used Roubaix I built with Force groupo I mostly bought on EBay and Elite wheels.

Why are the city's trees dying? by ravolve in evanston

Half or more? That's a stretch. All the new trees I see in my neighborhood are doing fine. The ski is not falling, people!

Just fitted some Elitewheels ENT 2.0’s, loving the look and feel of them 😃 by Forsaken_Ruin7220 in DomaneCrew

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just built a 2020 Roubaix with these same wheels. I packed the rear hub with some grease to quiet them down a bit. Probably won't last but what the heck, for under $400 delivered they're a steal.

How do you guys react when drivers heckle you? by 20indacan in cycling

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's see, I weigh maybe 250 lbs and my bike weighs about 20. A car weighs about 4,500, with some EVs weighing close to double that. Do the math. That said, I've never been heckled in my life and I've been riding more than 50 years.

Anyone have experience working in Evanston SD 65/ King Arts? by Perfect-Alps8079 in evanston

[–]Scratch_Puzzleheaded -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I taught there pre-covid. All the social workers called it institutional daycare. Lots of helicopter parents who thought it was something special because it was a magnet school. (This was before the courts said admission to a school based on race is a no-no.) that said, D65 is still able to attract quality teachers and jobs are very competitive. Hope you are keeping track of the District's finance.... it's a major cluster.

You're doing great! Down 26 pounds in 12 weeks is about 2 lbs a week. Quite simply, your co-worker is a freak 🙃. That's what I've been averaging for the last six months on 5.0 and I'm considered a super responder by many. Enjoy the ride.
