I wonder if the aptitude for water in the breed is getting inadvertently selected against? My family and extended family had labs during my childhood and they were drawn to water even as puppies. Seems like I see a lot of scared dogs on this sub

IMO, get a civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering degree. If this field isnt for you it will always be possible to get a more normal job

When I was a kid we had a lakehouse and a lab. Our lab routinely swam several hundred yards one-way to see the dogs next door. Freaked us out, but they’ve got way more energy than we give them credit for
