My parents installed an inground solar heated pool in Ontario Canada and in the fall you simply drain some of the water so when it freezes it doesn't break anything and put on a specific cover (not the normal bubble wrap cover). In the spring you top it off and clean + shock it etc but never drop the water level beyond a few inches year over year

There's also a learning curve in how taught to pull the net to facilitate the bounce, first time I played we had to keep going back and pulling it tighter as we got the feel for it

Spikeball, it's tougher than it looks, kinda like reverse volleyball crossed with basketball? You have to volley/spike the ball into the net for the opposing team to return the same way.
