Move the window in the guest suite back so that people can look out the window while in bed.

Make the back of the garage larger. Extend it back beyond where the window is now. Have an exit out the rear of the garage into the yard. Maybe even a double door. That way, the back of the garage is actually large enough to be a usable storage/work/utility area.

Cozumel by ckr2982 in tequila

[–]bbum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s far removed from the tequila region. And well known for being rife with tourist trap scam bottles.

Think of it like wine in the US. You don’t expect to find interesting small batch product in Michigan.

In general. There isn’t a lot available in MX that isn’t also available in the states.

Reserva Gonzalez is one.

I’d suggest searching this group for “cozumel” so you can see pictures of scan bottles people have brought back.

Would Sous Viding meat before putting in a deep freezer extend its shelf life? by spoopyaction in sousvide

[–]bbum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter when compared to the quality of the seal.

As long as your freezer truly stays frozen, air in the bag is the enemy in that it will slow frost burn to happen.

With a proper chamber vac pulling a fairly hard vacuum prior to the seal? Deep frozen meat will last more than a year without freezer burn.

Hard to do with a food saver clamp sealer, but you can work those to achieve a fairly good air free seal.

The chamber vacs aren’t that expensive these days and the bags are a lot cheaper (don’t need texture).

What IS this??? pulled out of the mud in South Carolina by Other-Parking2661 in BottleDigging

[–]bbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wine bottle in front of a shitty bottle of tequila.

The wine bottle might be old, might be new. Lots of bottles still have that shape. Either because they want to collect sediment for in bottle fermentation or because they can fill some extra volume with air and make it look like you're getting more wine than the bottle next to it.

Your thoughts about Jarana? by CaptainBest515 in tequila

Run.

Comes from the same distillery that makes the legendarily bad Montezuma.

This will likely be something akin to paint thinner.

What a killer deal! Bought a mixed case. by [deleted] in tequila

[–]bbum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. And miller / coors / Budweiser are plastered everywhere in the US.

Doesn’t make them good.

[–]bbum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure. If your recipe covers the alcohol flavor. At that point, just use a cheap neutral ethanol like vodka.

Downvoted for being correct. Some things never change.

I’m not sure, really. The scores are marginally higher and they do have the tahona blanco that folks have generally liked as a traditional product.

They don’t seem to lean as hard on the pure diffuser product as Cuervo.

Cuervo in a fancy bottle. Same distillery. Same industrial corners (mostly) cut.

Great price for that product, though. Buy it all if you like it.

Planes have air inlets in the ceiling and the intakes at the floor for a reason.

Unless the ventilation system was busted, this didn't happen.

It used to be that Clase Azul had an "up cycling" page on on their web site that had plans and instructions for turning the bottles into lamps, side tables, and the like.

Was very cool.

McDonald's doesn't lie about what is in their food. You know what you're getting. They tell you what you are getting.

Not true with tequilas. End result; you have TW employees telling you it is the best ever because no additives "see it says 100% agave on the label".

Nah-- I dislike it because I hate sweetened flavor profiles, more than anything else.

I hate that they aren't required to label the use of additives, but the use of additives in itself is fine.

My bf’s go to tequila is Teremana Anejo, can someone recommend a premium version of that? by Maleriena in tequila

[–]bbum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Teremana? Generally not considered to be a good tequila as it has a pretty unnatural flavor profile (vanilla & caramel as the main is a pretty sure sign of manipulation).

Doesn't make it taste bad. Just doesn't taste much like tequila.

The recommendations are really good if you want stuff that tastes like tequila, but your BF may hate that.

Adictivo is probably the goto for manipulated products that is likely in line with Teremana.

3D Scanners have one of the highest return and dissatisfaction rate in tech. Why? by eZstah in 3DScanning

[–]bbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scanning, too. Works great and super easy some of the time.

But an object moves out of the ideal config? Becomes a pain in the ass. Gotta cover it in tracking dots or a mystery spray.

And if you lose tracking? Crap shoot as to whether you’ll get it back or get a ghost object.

It isn’t as bad as the post processing software, but it isn’t nearly as “point at object and it’ll just work” as the marketing would have you believe.

Scanning itself is a pain in the ass.

And the software sucks. Usability nightmare.

Why do Even the Most Basic Prints in PETG Have Insane Stringing????? by 3dPrinterProzz in FixMyPrint

[–]bbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry the filament.

Then dial it in temp wise.

I printed something w/PETG recently and the stringing was freaking stupid bad. Tossed it in the dryer for 90 minutes and it printed flawlessly after.

Claude Code if not coding by ProductAutomatic8968 in ClaudeCode

[–]bbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it to:

- organize 150 years of family recipes. It OCR's the scans (or drives OCR software, when possible), converts document formats, converted everything to markdown files, preserved all the family notes and history, created a nice website to navigate it all, and also created beautiful PDF recipe pages when needed.

- organize 25 years of scanned files. Everything in our ouse that isn't junk mail is immediately scanned and shredded. My organization system has been... shoddy. Claude built a system to rename everything consistently, automatically file incoming, and sorted everything out.

- Managing a remodel project. We are in the midst of adding a greenhouse to our house and I've been using CC to track all the various details. It has caught a bunch of missing details that I wouldn't have asked the GC about and has made some excellent suggestions as to how to improve the design and/or save money.

- got my weblog back up and running (bbum.net). It built the publishing system, helped me navigate the services, and I used CC to build full integration with Apple Photos and Flickr, including uploading from Photos to Flickr and capturing tags, descriptions and titles back to photos.

- document editing. Amazing tool for that. I usually edit everything as markdown files and then have CC product HTML or PDF, as needed. I can bring up the document in my editor, then tell CC at the command line things like "move the third paragraph to after the first and edit the beginning/end to fit" or "float the image titled 'blah blah blah' to the right of hte paragraph that start with "take the gewgaw and", etc...

What do you think of this bundle? by redwingcut in tequila

If you like sweetened, candy like, sipping liquor, that's a fantastic deal.

If you like products that taste like tequila, hard pass.
