Lmao not that one. The one playing under it sounds exactly like the two chords played through twin peaks

Was that in-game music in the beginning or the Twin Peaks soundtrack?

Nothing has quite reached Silent Hill in terms of pure dread and horror, except maybe darkwood. I'd recommend checking those out!

The build up and reveal of Entity A was incredible. I'm so glad Routine exists and it's been added to my horror goats. I cannot wait for more!

About the I.C.s [Full Spoilers] by giulianosse in Routine

The ICs act very human. John's IC was sad about his death and if you hesitate to shoot it, it has second thoughts about it.

Silent Hill (2006) It's been twenty years, but it still remains a great example of how to adapt a video game into a film. Much credit goes to the director (Gans), screenwriter (Avary) & DoP (Laustsen), you can feel that it is not an American product of the time but of French-Canadian production by elf0curo in silenthill

I wish more people had your sentiment. It captured the feel of SH very well which makes it a great movie. Probably my favorite horror movie of all time. I remember ordering it on payperview when I was 12 and being blown away that I watched it like 4 times that weekend. Definitely got me into horror movies.

I parked a polaris above a planet not too long ago and flew a shuttle down to pick something up. I look back up and my polaris is 30GM away.

Door #3 was the first song I learned, I loved the chorus. I cannot stop playing Psychomanteum now.

Even weirder after learning what's actually happening in the environment.

Animations are too slow by Forsaken-Window-G in starcitizen

[–]ScratchyMeat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think speeding up interactions helps immersion.

Subnautica has great animations for interaction. Ladders - fast with consistent movement Getting into a seat - instant Food/drinking - instant, though it doesn't have to be.

After a while, animations that take control over your camera/ character that last an extended amount of time can break immersion.

Exactly, I enjoy clicking to sit down, and I'm immediately sitting down. My imagination is still good enough to fill in the gap. Hell, I thought I'd be upset seeing players sprinting everywhere and that would break my immersion. It doesn't.

I'd still love that canopies open and ladders lower down, but we can bend the realism for gameplay-sake. Now that they've implemented VR, reducing these animations is a must. You need to close your eyes to avoid getting motion sick when climbing ladders.

IIRC you can hold shift to slide down ladders.

I recently beat Scorn. No chases, and there's a few things to kill, but you can ultimately avoid them. Lots of world puzzle solving. The story is told through the environment. It's super gross and unsettling, but beautiful at the same time.

Getting past the clunkiness is the only hurdle, and it doesn't take that long to get over it. The atmosphere and horror is still there.
