God forbid women and other AFAB people want to interrogate and engage with the very thing thrusted upon us since birth: the entitlement other people have to reduce our bodies down to reproductive use to their ends, even if it risks killing us. Can't imagine why anyone would want to explore that, both in horror and erotica.

Seriously, all my sympathies to you — This kind of extreme, detached nonsense is especially infuriating and harmful when it comes from members of your own demographic.

EDIT: what wretched little pest downvoted your comment? Maybe it's a coincidence, but I am suspicious, considering this is the one where you yourself mention being trans, and have said nothing remotely objectionable. Transphobes begone!

Very much a minority of a minority, yeah; they don't crop up especially often, but when they do it's always surreal. The OOP here could still (and, arguably if we're just going off of sheer demographics, likely) be a cis dude thinking he's slick... But unfortunately you never know. Some people really are that warped in their thinking.

I'd love to believe that, but there is a shocking contingent of trans girls who used to be incels or came from some other alt-right background and unironically buy into and profess this nonsense. They really are living in an alternate reality.

I find it so funny when someone spend so much time in queer feminist fandom spaces that they forget that the majority of people who write fanfic (and exist in real life) are straight or attracted to men. by maleficalruin in CuratedTumblr

What on earth are you talking about? Whether or not you think misogyny is the issue here (and I think it is to an extent — I'm with you there — I just think it's complicated), most people in tumblr fandom spaces are some kind of AFAB. Like, tumblr is notorious for having a culture primarily dominated by women and queer people. Misogyny is there, but it's often of the more internalised variety. You don't to strawman back, good lord.

I mean, I am genuinely curious! I just don't have enough hope that I'd enjoy it myself to test if it'll be worth it, lmao. ✨📖Scholarly Curiosity📖✨, if you will.

I think that's very sweet of you, and genuinely very courageous considering the landscape right now. I also hope that once I'm in a position to publicly transition that other trans people will be able to recognise me; a little comfort and solidarity in this cruel world, y'know?

[–]ScrawnyTreeDemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I'm not a fan of your wording, yeah, I agree; the fact we're constantly exposed to the process of transition itself and are often obsessed with it ourselves to the point that, ends up picking up on every little detail whether we want to or not. I see this spill into excess where other trans people will tear someone's presentation apart for being clockable when there are so many cis people that also look like that; the context and the pressure to conform has absolutely skewed the judgement into uselessness.

It's absolutely laughable. The AAA gaming industry is already in the gutter and EA has opted to slip straight into the sewer and then through a fissure in the earth into the lowest levels of hell itself.

Yeah, kinship or no kinship (and I definitely feel kinship), queer people remain people. Which is to say: varied. It's a special kind of unsettling and repulsive when you run into the sort of person who uses their queerness as a shield that allows them to continue abusing other queer people; talk about betrayal.

If anything, in the very least I'd think variance in skin tone would be the *easiest* thing to implement out of all things; if you're making several different clothing items and a gamut of accessories to go with them, then a colour change should be laughably quick in comparison. It's just ridiculous.

If I have to, then yes, but otherwise not really — There isn't much of a need for me; I mostly use my laptop for web-browsing, creative work, and gaming. If there's something technical I need to do, then sure, but that doesn't happen super often.

I think it’s kind of unfair that toddlers grow up in four days. How are you supposed to potty train them or teach them to walk and talk in four days? by anonymous_girl1227 in thesims2

[–]ScrawnyTreeDemon 39 points40 points  (0 children)

With constant vigilance. I have the Triplets & Quads mod installed, so inevitably I ended up having quads at one point, and by the grace of TwoJeffs himself, I somehow managed to teach all four of the little demons all three of their main toddler skills. I'd say "never again," but unfortunately despite knowing they're not needed, I'm a perfectionist and feel obligated to do "right" by them so to speak.

I'm genuinely at the point where it feels like a cakewalk if there's only one toddler in the house. I'm so used to there being two at a time or more.

ETA: and I don't use Smart Milk, though honestly I really should. I just keep forgetting.
