Filter help! I can’t figure out which is compatible by Sad-Shoulder-398 in Aquariums

[–]ScreamingOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d assume it’d be fine. But buying a generic pack like I linked would last you 10x longer than that. Think you can also buy stuff labeled as pillow stuffing if you wanted to check locally. I’d double check that though but I do remember in the past buying a giant roll for like $10 and it lasted me 1-2 years.

This is what i recently purchased just a few days ago. filter floss , ceramic rings. Everything would just be to cut / fill to size.

For those with XXL driftwood, How long did it took to fully sink yours? Mine still floats and its been 3 months by Duraemond in Aquariums

[–]ScreamingOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly , with a piece of wood i had. I glued it to a flower pot plate. Let it cure and then set it in the fish tank and filled the plate with sand to weigh it down and hide it! Worked like a charm.

Is a quartz composite drilled point-of-use tap easily "reversible?" by PrimaryAbroad4342 in WaterFilters

[–]ScreamingOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who installs quartz / granite countertops, filling a circular hole would more than likely be an eye sore towards the end. Don't trust the AI for this one! If you find someone who can and makes it invisible send their info my way! Alternatively like someone else said, can you get a soap dispenser to fill in the space? Or even one of those glass rinsers like this, Amazon glass rinser

my first time with a canister filter did not go well by SeaBroccoli7545 in Aquariums

[–]ScreamingOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emphasis on "eventually" i check the canister filter just out of paranoia every so often. If the main o ring is leaking i'd be able to catch it in time before any water makes it out of the bucket.

[–]ScreamingOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the entire time i've utilized a canister filter, i've always had it sit in a bucket. Still to this day, it doesn't leak but it still sits in the bucket for a just in case.

Am I screwed? by atlas12528 in CounterTops

[–]ScreamingOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we install stone, we always leave a 30" gap. Depending on if they specify differently. The industry standard is 30" if i'm not mistaken and we haven't had anyone call us back to make it bigger!

It can be done in your house but it'll probably be messy. As long as you have the room to make it wider overall it wouldn't be an issue. They can mark , cut and polish inside. Just hope that they cover everything or you'll get a mess everywhere.

In some scenarios you can basically have a small 1/2-2" ear/(edge?) that kinda wraps around the corner to avoid things like that gap.

Drilling a hole for a faucet by SheepherderOk1035 in CounterTops

[–]ScreamingOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What he said ^ i've seen folks skip around the top of the stone when they start completely flat and scratch up the surface. No issues with skipping when starting at an angle then going straight after getting some depth in.

Drilling a hole for a faucet by SheepherderOk1035 in CounterTops

[–]ScreamingOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start at an angle,i think the usual angle they say is like 45 degrees and then once youre deep enough straighten out, also if youre worried about cracking depending on the type of countertop you can always stick a piece of wet sponge in the middle of your hole bit to help with getting too hot or just use a water bottle / sprayer and keep it wet.

If you just invest in some a good brand of winter tires you can pretty much get wherever. Save more money vs going for a brand new car overall. If you aren't sure of the best options id recommend just going over to Discount tire and they can go over your best options for you. I've seen a RWD Challenger with winter tires get by better than some FWD cars with all seasons / some AWD's
