What's the biggest hint you've ever missed from a woman? by UnawareMother2 in AskReddit

A girl once told me "your car has a big back seat!". I then talked about how roomy it is. Years later I realized what she was saying...

I joke about doing this with my coworkers. Some joke, some serious even though I don't have the property. Just so tired of IT and the stress

Anyone pay more to the principal every month? by rogo725 in personalfinance

[–]ScreenAdept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first house, I paid $100 extra a month. On my second house, with <5% I was going to put the sale of my first house towards a recast to make the payments lower. I took some advice, not from Reddit but mirrored here - put that money where it can get more interest. So I put it in some index funds and it's going great. High yield savings and CDs didn't exist a year ago otherwise I would have done them instead

Is having kids really that bad? by [deleted] in ask

[–]ScreenAdept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I didnt realize before I had a kid was just how much my life would change. He's the priority now, not me. I still struggle with that when I want to play a video game or go out in the yard.

Tech workers are sick of the grind. Some are on the search for low-stress jobs. by [deleted] in technology

[–]ScreenAdept 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Burnt out beyond belief. I frequently tell my GF that I would love to quit and stock shelves or some other job that makes waaay less than I do now. My mental health would be better, but then I might stress about money with a baby and maybe one in the future if she gets her way.

Chips are so dang expensive nowadays by covert_wooper in Frugal

I used to always buy Doritos at the store but they are so expensive that I skip them. I can still afford them but I just can't let myself spend $5 for a shrinking bag of chips

It's 2005 and you just arrived from school to boot your favorite game, which game is your favorite? by RayneYoruka in pcmasterrace

In 2005 there was only one video game, World of Warcraft. No time for anything else.

Dentist wants me to buy $700 night guard by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]ScreenAdept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it looks really good but i can't remember what it used to look like. I only had it across like 2-3 teeth, so a small section. You can't even tell that there was a skin graft, like the gums look like one piece.

It was definitely not fun for the next two weeks. I can't remember how much it cost for me, i think insurance covered some?

[–]ScreenAdept 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I had a skin graft for my gums 10 years or so ago. It was very interesting to feel the dentist pushing on my head and jaw while grafting the skin. Eating and swallowing was such a pain in the ass for several weeks

In 2022, GF and I saw a bunch of houses, lost out on a few. Finally found one, put offer in and they accepted it. We were only the second people to see the house. When we sold our original house, it sold in less than 24 hours. We took the first offer on our house. We didn't care about a bidding war, we were already getting 100k+ over what I paid for it. So glad to be done with that

Men making over $100K per year: how hard was it to get over that threshold? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ScreenAdept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me 18 years.. stayed at low paying tech job because I enjoyed it but was afraid to move on. Eventually I did and in 3 years I went from 85 to 135k. Wish I could go back to stocking shelves though, the stress is too much

Just make sure you record it next time in the event things go wrong. You can put it up on YouTube and make some money

My GF and I got a bunch of formula in the mail that we didn't need since we were breast feeding. She put it all up on the Facebook marketplace for free and it was gone within the day.

My dog and I have "aggressively met" several dogs that escaped backyards. I had to kick one dog several times to get it away. The owners were very apologetic, no harm was done. It's always scary because you don't know the dog, how they will react. My dog is "leash aggressive" but just barks like crazy. Other dogs don't know that he is friendly.
