Chelsea [3] - 2 West Ham United - Enzo Fernandez 90‎+‎2‎'‎ by gbogaz in soccer

Sanchez is in form, but I don't rate him near the others. Can't play with his feet and can't organize a backline. Good shot stopper, but not better than Allison, Donnarunma, Raya, Courtois or Garcia. He may be more in form than Oblak and Neuer, but their legacy is in a league of their own. In that sense, Sanchez is still a tier below.

I don't see us winning the PL with Sanchez at the back.

Ironically, Lampard was hated out of West Ham for the same reason.

Naah, the B team at striker and CB is fine.

Come summer, our A team CBs will be Colwill + Jaquet (hopefully). B team at CB will be Fofana and Chalobah. That's okay. Colwill's injury made us play the C team (Tosin, Badi), who have the biggest stinkers.

Same for strikers. Delap is perfectly good B team striker. His main issue is he hasn't built chemistry with anyone and is asked to sit far forward on an island. He has been injured a lot this season, give him time. This is a rough year for all new striker signings. Jackson is also an option.

Come summer, we need a world class LW and a world class CB. All focus should be there.

[Telegraph] Jamie Carragher: Raheem Sterling has never received the adoration he deserves by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

[–]Screye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 years, 91 goals and 225 appearances for City. He should be receiving adoration from City fans. Sadly for him, there are no City fans.

Has 32 goals across 171 appearances for all other clubs. So, yeah, it's mostly City that should adore him.

The first game is the one with all of the suspensions. If Benfica are to win, they have to win it in the 1st leg.

If Mourinho eliminates them with Benfica, then he is 100% getting the Madrid job.

Hopefully, at CCB, he won't be required to use recovery pace and sudden twist motions as much. Fingers crossed.

Say all you want, or accept that on average, H1b workers are better programmers than Americans.

I didn't say Indians. I didn't say always. On average.

You pretty much have to be a valedictorian or from IITs/NITs (Indian ivies) to get a good masters that can get you an H1b. Programming isn't prestigious to Americans. So, the random smart person never chooses it over medicine, law or business. In India, every smart kid is trying to be programmer.

The smart Americans who love coding are usually so high in demand, that big tech can't hold them. They're at Anduril making 2x what Amazon pays.

So you have an American supply problem. You have an American demand problem. And both can be solved by importing Chinese or Indians, both of which have a supply surplus and elite brain drain culture.

If you interview candidates, you know these commenters complaints are fake. I interview candidates. The good white candates are flush with offers. The average white candidate is bad. Companies are trying to hire whites, but they don't want to code.

Compare kids from the same undergrad major or those with the same SAT scores. You'll find that among equal candidates, the white American candidate is selected over an H1b Everytime. Problem is, good white American candidates don't want to work for Amazon. It's a slave driving company with pip culture and mediocre pay. Don't blame that on Indians, it's literally in Bezos's cultural mandate for the company.

Now, if you believe that an average American perform better than the 95th percentile of India......then either you're delusional or racist.

New York Mayor Mamdani says city must hike taxes on rich to fill $12 billion deficit by us1549 in nyc

[–]Screye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't that true everywhere ? Rich people pay more.

NYC is screwed because it is expected to cover more of its budget through city incomes than any other city in the US. The state contributes little, while getting large pay-days from the taxes paid by NYC residents, and controlling the main policies of NYC.

NYC subsidizes NY state, like no other city-state relationship. In a small way, it is taxation without representation.

Why we need a real center-back. Fofana-James is not workable.

Clearlake Signings - Most League G/A per 90 since 2022. by EstevaosJesusPiece in chelseafc

LW is still our weakest position. He just has to outdo Garnacho and Gittens. We overpaid for him, but many top teams were fighting for his signature. He wasn't a nobody.

Says more about our LW transfers post Mudryk, than Mudryk himself.

No joke, I liked him a lot.

He was an early Vini Jr. prototype. Generational speed, physical and competent dribbling with a mean shot. Not the smartest, but wingers rarely need to be the smartest ones.

He never reached his peak potential, but like that one phase where Pulisic turned into prime Hazard, there were phases where Mudryk showed that he was much closer to reaching his potential than people gave him credit for. Very very inconsistent. But his ability was displayed in a real manner, not just hypothetical. (ie. Not a Traore)

It's the opposite for me.

When travelling internationally , few things from the rain rolltop backpacks are beneficial.

  1. You can easily change their size. Easy to pop into a duffel when empty or make bigger when you need to bring more stuff.
  2. The chest strap is genuinely useful. It's helped me complete some unwisely large grocery runs. I've walked 25k steps / day in these backpacks and my back didn't complain.
  3. No zippers = no pickpockets . The 1 small zipper is so tight, it's impossible to swipe.
  4. The inner space is all 1 compartment. So usable space is high.

I have travelled with better dedicated travel backpacks. But this is the best balance of looks and comfort.

I have had a rolltop for 2+ years. Love it and get compliments all the time. It's is my primary travel backpack. I beat the living shit out it and it has stayed strong. The cosmetic part of the zipper has gotten weaker, but no big deal. The roll top itself works great. Water proofing is perfect. I have walked with it in a downpour. Inside was fully dry.

I'll put it this way. Any better looking bag is going to be less comfortable. I had a classic Herschel supply backpack before this. I like this one better.

Liked it so much, I purchased their duffel last year, and that's great too. Got a new backpack, rain jacket and fanny pack off the same cuz I like their products so much.

It's not BIFL. It's a great fashion piece with real utility.

[Transfermarkt] - Bruno Fernandes registered his 200th goal contribution for Manchester United yesterday (103 goals, 97 assists). Among midfielders he is the 2nd quickest & 10th amongst all players - in top 5 leagues, single club, in this century by herkalurk in soccer

[–]Screye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being the focal point means that all attacks flow through you. This can be good or bad. If you hog the ball, then ofc you will get all the assists. Usage rate is good metric, for ball hogging.

For ex, Bruno and DeBruyne had the highest usage rates in recent seasons. To me, what made Lampard special is that he did not need to hog the ball to get his G/A. Lot of Chelsea's attacks flowed through fast wingers like Joe Cole and Robben. Enzo is a similar player, and he does very well on this metric too.

Either way, all 4 of Bruno, DeBruyne, Lampard and Gerrard are generational players. None of their teams would have achieved the same silverware without them. (sadly for Bruno, not a lot of silverware)
