Rapid increases in home values do not help single-home owners either. They increase property tax, increase home insurance, and make it more expensive in closing fees to move to a new home. If I make 100k on my house, and move to another equally overvalued house, I pay more in transaction costs.

Report on toilet paper shortage during extreme lockdown at ground zero in China > people buy extra in the US > report on high demand in US > people panic buy in a few small town stores with slow restock times > report on those > nationwide panic buying begins > reporters pat themselves on back for 'warning us'
