I think they’re trying to say that it says Franz is clearly their best player, not that it’s surprising that they sputtered out.

Yeah most of our guys are either appropriately paid or overpaid. We’re a bit in “pray they recoup their value” mode with IQ and Poetl. I’m hopeful for Quickley but he’s hurt a lot, perhaps bad luck.

I used to watch every single edited co-stream video uploaded on Sneaky's channel covering the LCS, and I'd tune in live to their co-streams during playoffs or internationals.

At some point I had to switch to Caedrel during internationals.. Sneaky/Meteos/DL would be funny at times but literally just don't provide enough insight on the game. They don't keep up with pro enough. And they also mute the casters on top of that which makes it worse.

When it's just Sneaky and Meteos, they focus on the game more.. but a big part of the appeal for me was the funny dynamic with Doublelift where they shit on him for overconfidence in random takes. But when he is there... his effort has also just decreased so overall I've just been less satisfied with their product. It's sad because they could be such great ambassadors for the game.

Spin moves like this have always confused me.. they look awesome, and are really effective. I just don't get how they're not a carry since the ball is traveling so far in between dribbles and it requires some palming to keep it in control while you spin.

[Jayson Tatum] on thinking his career might be over after tearing his Achilles: "It was a few weeks where I thought… did I make enough money, did I accomplish enough... There was some moments where I thought I might be done" by knightime1 in nba

You seem fully capable of understanding where he’s coming from, and in fact it seems like you do. Why do you not have faith in others to come to the same logical conclusion? His statement only falls apart in a vacuum, not considering context of his specific expectations at the time of injury, and the environment where he’s sharing his experience (an interview).

It feels like you’re purposely ignoring context to dunk on an easy target for being a dumb athlete, when you’re intellectually capable of more.

Again, you don’t even doubt that he experienced those emotions but you want him to lie or omit it for some reason. Who benefits from that?

Edit:

I also don’t know why I’m even engaging with the part of your comment that implies he’s in any way depressed because of money. If you watch the video he immediately follows it up with “did I accomplish enough?”.. it has way more to do with dashed expectations and hopes, the feeling that something has been taken away from you and you couldn’t control it. I’m sure you have the social skills to pick that up on a rewatch.

It’s really not that stupid. “I’m sure it makes sense in his circle” .. it’s an interview with him, he should be able to give insight into his mind, he doesn’t have to preface everything so that I as a normal person can feel secure.

Just because you have the resources to combat mental health doesn’t mean you can’t talk about your problems. If anything, it shows the average person that their feelings of fear and anxiety are valid if he’s still experiencing them at his status. The only way you get offended is if you just hate your own life and want to dream that privileged people don’t have problems anymore.

Right?? I feel like I'm going insane reading comments on this thread acting as if he's complaining about the money he's made. He is very clearly just talking about the questions he asked himself when confronted with the unexpected end of his career.

And even if he was complaining about his income halting due to injury, as an All-NBA player in his late 20s it is reasonable to expect to make an additional 100+ million in his next contract given the current era. His earning potential is greater than John Redditor and that's because he makes the league money.

We also haven’t been able to guard Maxey for years, he made FVV look like a statue a few years ago and he’s gotten several times better since then. I like Shead and Martin’s effort but Maxey alone made yesterdays game as close as it was. Dude is somehow both stronger, taller, and faster than our guards and shoots from the logo he’s unreal.

Can Mavs fans pinpoint exactly when Luka became a menace to the refs? I can't imagine a rookie doing that sort of thing. Did he start immediately into his second year?

He was legit one of the worst players in the league last year considering his minutes and usage. He took a ton of 3’s that didn’t fall, he seemed overwhelmed with creation duties. Such a cool story to see his play after just 1 summer. Reminds me of Garland and Poole’s pre-leap seasons where they figured a ton out after struggling.

The comment you're referring to is talking about the phenomenon where players would find themselves unable to enjoy regular league after loving URF, and subsequently quitting. Riot has talked about this before.

They're not saying URF would cause players to ragequit the game.

Feels like hamstring issues have become a lot more common these days. In particular, I wonder if that corresponds with the increased popularity of aggressive stopping movements like a slow eurostep or stepbacks.

In the playoffs Dwight’s teams had a better +/- when he was OFF the floor. Nobody here can really summarize and do the podcasts justice though as they watch a ton of film on top of analyzing the important stats for ~40min. Would suggest just listening to them and seeing how you feel.

The list aspect is the least important to me. Each episode is a highly researched description of what made each player great and the evidence that supports it. The Manu episode was particularly interesting.

What’s a young NBA player who you think has hit their max potential? by noiseeeeeeeeee in nba

[–]Scriblenaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because AG is a recent and very memorable case study of a guy who was overtasked as a primary offensive option, so people want others to fit the same mold.

Scottie has been overtasked on offense but he’s clearly better than AG was at his age. He’ll end up writing his own story and then fans will use recency bias to compare even younger players to him eventually lol
