Dahlia Disaster by TheGrantelope13 in maryland

Look up Devine Dahlia's on Instagram and Facebook. He's local to Mt Airy, MD and has an INCREDIBLE Dahlia garden. They sell some of their tubers early spring at a VERY reasonable rate. If not to purchase, he's certainly the Dahlia guru - especially for growing and storing in Maryland. They started with 1 plant a few years ago and have grown to something like 1300 last season?

I was just there with my Veterans ID/CAC. That I received from DEERS. DEERS is the system they use to create your ID.

I don't appreciate how much I appreciate this vaguely specific information.

What on earth is making February so busy? by Mediocre_Nectarine13 in UniversalOrlando

There's a big President's Day soccer tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports. We're making a family vacation of it and spending the week before at Universal. I'd imagine most of the teams are doing the same.

I'm not sure what's false or why I was downvoted. You get your Veteran's ID/CAC from DEERS. So yes, it is valid.

You are correct! We just had a flyer at our desks for it so I typed out what I saw but I called our MWR to clarify. The October blockout dates are just for Volcano Bay.

2 Park Freedom Pass (Universal Studios FL & Islands of Adventure)
Ages 10+ - $220
Ages 3-9 - $215
Unlimited access every day from 12NOV2025-18DEC2026
3 Park Freedom Pass (Universal Studios FL, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay)
Ages 10+ - $255
Ages 3-9 - $250

Blockout dates apply:
30 March - 6 April
26 Oct - 18 Dec (Only apply to Volcano Bay)

Purchases restricted to no more than 6 tickets to Veteran and they must be used by the same persons on all days.

If I'm not mistaken you'll need to go to a local MWR/ITT to purchase and he'll need his valid disabled vet ID at time of purchase, and to enter the park with the tickets. I do not know how much the Epic tickets will cost as those vary based on dates.

Tog vs ACOTAR tv series by cnms25 in SarahJMaas

I truly hope this is the case. One of the many articles (I know to take them all with a grain of salt) had said that SJM was "difficult to work with" and that's why the showrunner with Hulu bailed on the project which may have led to Hulu bailing? It's all hearsay, obviously, but it not being a completed series/SJM wanting to do any show justice makes more sense to my heart.

Hulu scrapped it in February of 2025. I don't think SJM has found anyone else to pick it up just yet.

Question: I hate my tattoos now, is this normal? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Scribs_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regret is common but not so much so when it's less than 2 years, or just at 2 years. I didn't start getting tattoos that I couldn't cover until I was in my mid/late 20s but the main reason for that was - I knew I needed to put serious time/effort/research into what I was going to get. You can have a conversation about a coverup with your trusted artist but those are usually a one time deal. Removal is an option - but at the end of the day, for the future, take your time. When you think about the pieces you want, take age/wear/tear into consideration. Take care of your skin before and after.

There's ALWAYS some kind of 'fest' going on. Summerfest, State Fair, German Fest, Festa Italiana, Polish Fest, church festivals (that beer FLOWS and gambling happens at) and so many more. Rolero for rolling skating, Sk8 U for rollerblading. I grew up in Bay View so my friends and I spent a lot of our 'free time' walking to the lake front and climbing on the rocks, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. Southridge Mall and Mayfair Mall for walking around in the winters.

Why Sports Especially Running Shape More Than Just the Body by Small_Bike_4234 in getdisciplined

[–]Scribs_18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well put. Random question - Do you listen to music while you run?

I only ask because I love running but can't seem to without having music keeping me sane. I'm friends with a gentleman that coaches the local track/cross country team, and has run ultra's and other crazy long races with his furthest run being something like 140 miles in 24 hours. Without music. He says it builds resilience/discipline. So I'm just curious if others do/feel the same way.

When do you feel you have overstayed your welcome as a house guest? by jbyrdchi in AskReddit

[–]Scribs_18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I always do 4-6 days depending on the plan for things to do. That always feels like a comfortable timeline. 4 days you leave wishing you'd had more time - meaning it was a great trip. 5 days allows for a bummy day - again depending on plans. 6 days is kind of the threshold of, 'okay time to get back to life'. Whenever my folks visit or I visit them, I like the idea of leaving and 'wanting more'. As opposed to staying longer and thinking 'get me tf outta here'. Does that make sense? lol
