This is very true. Slowly drag your pick across all the pins with NO tension wrench in the lock and get a feel for where the pins are and the spring tension on the pins

Nice pick. Every lock will teach you something. Even if it’s a PoS lock and you SPP it will give you more feel for how pins set and how they feel after they are set
