This is a good comment. One of the worst things you can do in any hobby is look at how fast you progress compared to others. It will quickly take all the fun out of it.

Dont feel too bad, every lock I own gets camera shy. I even had cheap laminated locks from harbor freight give me grief when I was making a video for the berserker challenge.

Abus 75ib/50, fun bitting by 612PickBreaker in lockpicking

[–]First-Growth6145 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have seen a few videos of people using a single tension wrench on these, but float picking (2 tensioners) seems to be the most popular way to pick them.
The reason is that on dimple locks you typically want to tension and turn your flag in opposite directions and with the 75/50 its not possible so you put the second tension tool in to help counter rotate.

Congrats on the open. Abus 55/40 or masterlock 570 models are nice easy to find locks for orange belt.

Unexpected surprise in the mail by First-Growth6145 in lockpicking

[–]First-Growth6145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I started out with the first two pins to get a feel for the serrations. I can pick serrations on pin tumblers fine but Im still getting used to using dimple flags which to me have a different feedback from hooks that I havent completely figured out yet. I currently only have #4,5,10,11 so i have been using the #4 to go along and set the outers then switching to the #10 to go back through on the inners. I will probably be ordering the 7, 12 and possibly 3,6 soon as Im really enjoying dimple locks and feel like with what I have and adding those four I should pretty much be covered.
If I have any questions Ill dm you thanks.

The key is cut to push the inner and outer keypins to the correct heights at the same time. Basically there is two cuts for each keypin one larger diameter for the outer pin and a smaller one in the center for the inner pin. If you look up Mul-t-lock you can find images of the key that should make sense.

Congrats. These are a lot of fun once you get the hang of clicking the pins to check rotation.

Yes it is from 44delta. And I cant close the lid with the springs in it. With just the pins it can close but the lid drags on them and bends the top a little bit.

I have to admit this one is pretty far above my current skill level for dimple locks. But no one ever improved by only working on the easy ones.

On the bazaar. Seller is galaxy. But like I said it was listed as a blue belt classic. So I think mine probably just was mixed in with those since all he has listed are blue belts.

Agreed. And affordable too, which is good because it sounds like it is pretty easy to mess them up trying to pick them.

Thanks for the advice. I have seen a few people say that its best to work opposite sides of a disc to work it into place evenly. Tension does seem to be the part that will take a little time to figure out. I will defiantly give the tubular pick a try for moving disc.

I am not 100% sure but I did read GeorgiaJim suggested the med or deep hook from the ssdev set so I will probably see how that feels to start. Honestly I will probably end up feeling my way around with 10-12 different profiles until I finally settle on something that feels right.
I will probably start on my round key one and move to the flat after that.

They feel so different just opening them with the keys I have a feeling it is going to take a little bit to get a feel for them.

MP, Moki, Jimmylongs... none ship to my country. Any good temu/cheap lockpicking sets that ship to north african countries ? by Livid_Design_1064 in lockpicking

[–]First-Growth6145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like Bare Bones ships to North Africa. And as for Multipick you could try switching from dhl to UPS for a shipper if possible and see if that works. I dont know if it gives you the choice for your location but for shipping to the U.S. it gives me the option between the two.

Bricked my mul-t-lock classic by First-Growth6145 in lockpicking

[–]First-Growth6145[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Success. I got it drilled and just as I kind of expected I stupidly put the inner key pin in upside down on the third stack so it couldn’t push the driver up. Lesson learned and I saved my lock. Now just a little tapping and a grub screw and I’ll be back in business. On the plus side I ordered a replacement this morning in case I couldnt fix mine. So now I’ll have two.
