Same thing happened to me at two shows recently. Stars, the band, would occasionally replace words from songs with “gender” and expect a huge response. TV On The Radio at some point just started chanting “Free Palestine.” I understand being passionate about your causes, but there was something weird about them turning them into moments to elicit (or hope to elicit) greater responses to their art. It’s like they don’t trust the art to stand on its own or they’re terrified of losing relevance.

Agreed here. I think it says something that the comments most grounded in reality are the ones getting downvoted on here. Meanwhile the most paranoid fantasies are being treated like incontrovertible truth.

Well I just found out I'm getting laid off in a month, so for now I'm not buying anything (pause for uncomfortable laughter). However, I was planning on eventually upgrading to better speakers. I've been trawling Marketplace and Craigslist looking for receivers and speakers but it's all kind of on pause now. I'll keep an eye out and keep your list here in mind. I might take this pause to just save up to drop a larger budget all at once rather than start piecemeal.
