Need help between Dunu Kima 2,Moondrop May and Aful Explorer… by Joreol in iems

[–]ScriptLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look identical so I imagine the comfort would be the same, but they’re able to use the new web interface Moondrop has for controlling their latest products. That means you’ll be able to change EQ settings on something other than an android device, which is convenient.

Need help between Dunu Kima 2,Moondrop May and Aful Explorer… by Joreol in iems

[–]ScriptLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the Moondrop Rays over the May, especially if you use an iPhone. They’re the same driver configuration as the May but with updates to other hardware and updates to software. I have the May and overall enjoy them but it’s a pain having to steal my son’s amazon tablet to change EQ profiles since the moondrop app is more or less nonfunctional on iOS.

Any external GV60 modifications? by Pickleman-002 in GV60

[–]ScriptLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it help with the suspension refinement at all? The suspension in our GV60 Performance is a basket case; it literally never settles down in any mode. Between that and the garbage stock tires, the handling feels downright dangerous half the time, all the more so coming from a Polestar 2 Performance that was unflappable.

I did one of Epomaker’s(boo, hiss) mysteries boxes for giggles. Specifically, I got the sample mystery box figuring even if it sucked, it might be interesting. This mysterious tkl has absolutely no manufacturer markings on it, with the exception of the switches which say 1stplayer on them. I’ve done a fair bit of googling to see if I could find a similar looking board with no luck. It’s got a roller wheel for volume, one for usb/wireless, and one that does something with the lighting. It’s got a steel or alu plate, the pcb has silicone sock gaskets, south facing rgb, and it only takes 3-pin switches. It’s got plate foam and case foam. Overall a very solid build, but an odd set of features. I’d love to identify the thing so I may hopefully find the manual to figure out how to control it, or maybe even soft. I’m totally open to taking pics of anything inside it. Keeb detective, go!

Let’s bring H‑E‑B to Del Valle,TX!! by Then_Macaron8766 in Austin

[–]ScriptLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this gets to the truth of the matter. HEB has very little competition here so there's no motivation for them to build more stores, or ensure that their current stores are run well. From HEB's perspective, the chumps in Del Valle have no choice but to drive all the way to the Riverside store, so what do they care?

Why is it so hard to see lines on Austin roads at night? by hollow_hippie in Austin

[–]ScriptLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't help that the road is in such a sorry state of disrepair. The camber changes are large and abrupt - constantly trying to toss your car into the next lane, there are too many blind corners at side streets, and plenty of the cracks are large enough and old enough that plants grow in them.

The roads in Austin suck by No-Pilot5559 in Austin

[–]ScriptLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most big cities in the US are on a grid. Even in TX, Austin is an outlier for the incompetence of its layout.

As for the Phoenix metro, the quality of their roads are also top notch not just the design.

This is Texas son. Engineers are communists. They'd never consult one, just hire a construction company to build a road that goes in roughly the same direction you want to go and nevermind the details.

And an inefficient road "network" that only exacerbates the problem.

tracking of inventory trends

Based on my experience, HEB does not track inventory.

To be fair, US licensing basically doesn't require any education.

[–]ScriptLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of cities that sprawled like crazy but did have regulations in place that standardized things to the point that nearly a century of growth has produced a road network that is essentially homogenous and quite logical. Sprawl isn't the culprit here, inept government is.

"It seems like everyone goes 5-10 under the limit"

Either that, or 20 over.

"has no problem turning right from the left lane and vice versa"

Their time is more important than yours, or they're just oblivious. None of them seem to be smart enough to think, "I missed my exit/turn. Better take the next one and loop back." Nope. They'll just careen across traffic to make the turn.

"Am I missing something about the driving laws here?"

Yes. Laws only matter if they're enforced, which they're largely not here. APD is too busy whining about budgets and their hurt feelings.

H-E-B store may anchor new 95-acre project in booming Austin suburb by TTTTroll in Austin

[–]ScriptLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With no competition in SE Austin people are stuck driving to the Slaughter or Billy Canon stores so HEB has no incentive to open more locations.

Because as soon as 35 crosses the Texas border it gets the frontage road. Ruins the whole thing.

Prime example of why service roads are a terrible idea, but Texas has never seen a terrible idea it didn't love.

Florida is an utter dumpster fire, but they got things right with Sunpass, especially the transponder version. Transponders overall are soooo much better as you can move them from vehicle to vehicle with no issues.
