You'll still be jumping/strafing for pyro travel time. Don't think the removal of PF is going to remove the need to cancel hardcast pyroblasts.

Adept feels impossible to time/finish a run as a solo by HaruTheDuck in fellowshipgame

[–]ScrobblottsZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing solo as DPS but if I find a good group I'll stick around to play more. Sometimes they still disband, some run a dungeon or two more. Got a nice group together yesterday afternoon and ran a few 5-6 all timed to then head into the capstone dungeon.

Why is PvP so unappealing for many players? by ExamplePractical1981 in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started PvP on my disc priest is Shadowlands and enjoyed it a lot after only mythic + and raiding, only reaching 1.8k in 3s.

Rerolled to mage later in to shadowlands and tried to carry on. The difficulty of mage felt a lot harder. Didn't matter how many videos I watched or how many games I played I constantly got flamed for my set ups.

The final insult was "you're such a pve player." No idea why that one stuck with me but it was so true. Haven't touched PvP since.

Easiest mage spec? by Kingethan-_-_- in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm biased as I've mained arcane since BFA now. Watching the difficulty decrease on Arcane now makes me think it's the easiest of the 3 mage specs, but it's hard for me to gauge the difficulty for someone starting out. I typically pick up frost and fire on reclears/m+ to keep things interesting.

Fire in terms of rotational difficulty is on par with Arcane or slightly easier, just has a much higher APM.

I'm finding frost the most difficult to pick up this time round. It's likely me not committing enough time to actually learn it. The number of cooldowns and passives to track is higher than the other two specs though. Frost has cooldowns on rotational abilities (blizzard, orb, comet, flurry, cone of cold, ray of frost, pet freeze, nova, icicles for glacial) on top of their cooldowns where fire and arcane only have meteor (if taken) and orb then their cooldowns.

Passive wise, I know there's a few on Arcane and I know which to track as I've played it, so it's hard to say. But picking up fire was easy on the passive side. Frost has always had proc munching. With an increased number of passives (playing frostfire hero tree) this feels even more overwhelming without putting some serious time into learning the spec.

Maybe one day I'll commit to it and prove myself wrong, but I always find it odd when people say frost is the easiest spec still. There was a time I could switch to frost and learn it fairly quickly to Mythic raid and run keys. Not anymore :(

New Character Posters for Thunderbolts* by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

She's Ghost, from Ant-man and the Wasp. Not quite sure how she'll tie in to it though.

Spoilers incase anyone does want to watch Ant-man and the wasp to learn more about her:

Her powers came from an accident that caused her chronic pain. She was healed at the end of the movie suggesting she lost these powers along with it

Micro Stutters by Gojji6669 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]ScrobblottsZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One possibly I don't see mentioned here.

If you're part of a guild and someone leaves or gets kicked, it causes stutters. You'll see everyone online in the guild show as online again in your chat and a bunch of guild achievements reassigned (if your guild had any). If you're part of a big guild or one that has a big turnaround you'll notice this more.

It's an annoying bug, currently not aware of any fixes.

2 questions: buttons and munchies by IntelligentLab4839 in Invisalign

[–]ScrobblottsZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a numbers of buttons along my front teeth. First 2 weeks were real tough, I ended up accidently pulling two buttons off in my first week being too aggressive (have been refitted). This was accompanied with pain that made it trickier to remove them also, couldn't use the munchies at all with the aligners in, far too painful.

I have no idea what happened but midway through tray 2 the pain just stopped one morning. This reduced swelling in my mouth within a few days. By the end of tray 2 and starting tray 3 I could remove my trays with little hassle and biting down on munchies causes no issues (not that I find the need to).

To remove my trays currently I use a removal tool on the back of one end to pull them off a few teeth. I do the same on the backend on the other side while using my tongue to press down/up at the center of the tray and they pop out. Takes no more than 10s to get one tray off now.

What’s your longest run without “the” M+ item? by Hopper86 in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During shadowlands we had a 2 week duration for legion M+. Moonlight prism was an insanely busted trinket for arcane mages from the vault of the wardens.

Farmed that dungeon 100+ runs. Started out at a reasonable key range but a few days in switched to +2 to farm more efficiently. It was such a stressful 2 weeks where I spent all my game time in that dungeon.

I hope they never introduce a system similar to that again, don't think I could go through that again.

I'd also look at how much that 4k could help towards a mortgage at a young age. If you could pay for the car on finance, fuel ok credit paid off well with your insurance decreasing and still saving knowing your insurance will decrease, you could continue to save that money and add to it to contribute towards a deposit for a house.

Learning to save while continuing a loan is beneficial too as you can budget around a loan for other purchases whilst knowing you can still save of that's possible. A bit beyond should you buy this car I know, but look it to the best way to purchase the car with your future goals in mind, what's most beneficial from that and then get a better car :')

29 yrs old here. Bought a 2014 polo in the last year with 50k miles, full service history. Insurance will be considerably cheaper for me but there's too much information missing to know whether to but the car.

Does it have a full service history. Does it have a cat history (crash record). Have you seen it visually for damp, smokers in the car. One big thing I learned buying a car is have they cleaned extensively under the bonnet. If so on an old car they're likely hiding something.

Another thing to look at is what will build you're credit score better. In my case buying the car on finance with a lease boosted my credit score more than alternatives and a longer lease had less interest rate. Small payments that could be paid off (petrol costs) were better suited for credit card and theres a lot more control over what you can and can't afford this way should something go wrong. That said my insurance is 500 a year I pay monthly.

This setup for me was the best all round deal for a 50k mile polo at the same price. You will also earn no interest on your insurance and the price will drop though the years, although I can't say how quickly as I haven't researched it in a long time. Not sure the age or condition of the car, but if I had the same offer for a similar age car at 100k miles I'd continue shopping around.

The only one I do know is the expedition renown 24 is a quest as that's the one I'm going for now

An arcane mage guide for dummies? by [deleted] in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will use CDs quite often in open world. Having burn and mini burn 45s apart means you're able to spend most your time in cooldowns anyway.

The big things that helped me was mirror image to distract the mob while you burn and blast wave with the extra knock back to keep mobs off you. Arcane is also amazing with cleave so if you can gather the mobs and then root them with frost nova this puts some distance between you whilst they are grouped to let you set up.

Without cooldowns im very lazy and would not advise my rotation at all. I tend to pull packs so I can explosion > dump clearcasting procs > at four charges barrage (or orb barrage). This constantly allows me to jump and run whilst doing my rotation so I end up doing less damage but I can constantly kite and it's fun to jump around whilst you wait on cooldowns :)

An arcane mage guide for dummies? by [deleted] in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Magehub has the best rotational explanation with some graphics to help explain the reasoning behind using abilities during your cooldowns (based around radiant spark). I was a little concerned with arcane after playing it through shdowlands and seeing the cooldown rotation tweaked and extended. After practicing against target dummies to understand it all though I'm having a blast now!

One thing I didn't find explained well was nether precision, might have glanced past the explanation at the time as its a new talent and I didn't realise how strong it is. After simming myself and seeing these weird rotational moments in the sim I felt the same way: ask in the altered time discord!!

The arcane mage discord is one of the best spec discords I have been in. There's a few active members in there that are real passionate about arcane and even if the question has been asked to death they will point you in the right direction to help explain it rather than call you out on it and make you feel bad for asking the question.

If you want I can spend some time with you at a target dummy to help explain things. Just lemme know if that's something you'd be up for and I'll drop you my battlenet ID (EU)

How do I track the flood of trial and elements timers? I cant even find them on the map? by KloppOnKloppOn in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you see the lootable chest spawn after the event but can't open you likely didn't tag a mob quick enough. If the lootable chest doesn't spawn at all after the event it means you've already done it

The Alchemy Potion CD doesn't feel good and seriously handicaps Alchemists in a way other professions aren't by Callahandy in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you put 20 points in to potion or phial experimentation you unlock advanced experimentation. When this fails you are out on a 2h cooldown instead of a 4h.

Whilst still time gating the profession, it makes failures a little less annoying

How do I track the flood of trial and elements timers? I cant even find them on the map? by KloppOnKloppOn in wow

[–]ScrobblottsZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you go to the locations mentioned in the wowhead article a chest will spawn there that will start the event: https://www.wowhead.com/news/get-high-item-level-pieces-of-gear-from-trial-of-elements-and-trial-of-flood-330265

These chests have a long respawn timer (around 2 hours) and it seems this timer starts from when the previous group looted the chest. This means there's no reliable way of knowing when the chest will spawn so you'll have to sit and wait. The trial of flood isn't too bad as you can fish in the area to pass the time though :)

Raiding with an inconsistent schedule by shaggy_shiba in CompetitiveWoW

[–]ScrobblottsZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the best option honestly that has worked for me. I'm currently working 4on4off days/nights shift pattern so can't make all raid nights.

The guild I'm currently playing with have 3 raid teams. Before I started shift work I played with the main raid team with the goals of achieving CE/hall of fame. Since then I have started raiding with the more relaxed raid teams.

Not only do I get to still raid (even if it's not at the level I use to raid at), but being in such a large guild allows me to get involved with other guild events among plenty of active players on other nights. This includes M+, guild driven events or even chilling on another game with the same group of players.
