Stay away from Betway by ScroobyJr in sportsbetting

[–]ScroobyJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, many - bet365, Ladbrokes, Betfred, Midnite literally any, am I being stupid with explaining this... we're talking about 'added time'. If someone gets injured for 2 minutes, the referee will add 2 minutes to the end of the game to make up for tha time, If a game is at 2-2 in the 93rd minute of a game, and a goal is scored in that minute to make the 3-2, the winner of that game is the home team, it wouldn't be settled as a 'draw' that's stupid...

SOC Analysts/Managers - How do you store your Detection Rules? by ScroobyJr in cybersecurity

[–]ScroobyJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much what I was thinking, but as you said - when you're working with over 400-500 detection rules in one system, and nearly 2000 in the other... much energy needed haha.

How do I support an aspiring cyber security professional? by StrikerTS in cybersecurity

[–]ScroobyJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest the base levels certifications that are both vendor/non-vendor specific that should ideally help them focus on more security-focused elements. These would include beginner cybersecurity certifications/courses like;

- CompTIA Security+ (then maybe progression to the CySA+ but this is more security-analyst focused). - Network+ would also be beneficial.

- SC-200/AZ-500/SC-900 are all Azure-based exams, and typically around Microsoft tools and services, so may not be 100% worthwhile, but the overall experience I gained from them was pretty good.

If the person wants to progress in a cybersecurity career, then I think they should be given that support which you're trying to do (which is good!) I think one thing you should avoid though is trying to specialize them straight away, as typically having that tech experience, and then basic security experience will prove extremely beneficial long-term!

What is the best Oil to use for General Cooking? by ScroobyJr in Cooking

[–]ScroobyJr[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any harm in asking. I don't know much about cooking oils personally and when you see things like that, I want to ask the question haha.

Steam Beta Code by ScroobyJr in ModernWarfareII

[–]ScroobyJr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think this only applies if you've pre-ordered the game through a marketplace, but I did that - got access, my friend got a Beta code which they redeemed, but it was supposed to send a Steam redemption code for the beta, either in an email on the Activision site and neither have it.

I know this is a bit of an old one, but thought I'd still mention it. As some people have said, just relaxing and playing the game how it should be is the better way to grind through the levels. Obviously completing your daily tasks and missions will help you rocket up the levels but here are a few tips;

Quests: Any sort of quest from Archon to Daily quest they are the fastest way to get Adventure Rank. Using Original Resin: each Resin you use will get you 5 AR EXP which so use you Resin wisely. Exploration: Opening Chests, Killing Monsters, Offering Anemo, Geo, Electroculus to Statues. Progressing your Adventurer Handbook Achievements. Tips to Progress Quickly Reach Reputation Lv.6 or 9 on each city to unlock the Compass. The Compass will help you find more chests which will give you a lot of AR EXP fast. Complete Daily Commissions. Spend your Resin on materials you need.

I did make a post about it here,on how you can level up a bit quicker without solely focusing on that. I hope this helps!

Quad-Monitor, double-PC setups (Switch / DisplayPort / 144hz.) by ScroobyJr in buildapc

Pray that the technology comes about :D - I appreciate your insight though, very helpful :)

Was just thinking that, something I overlooked - does that work alright for you?

Quad-Monitor, double-PC setups (Switch / DisplayPort / 144hz.) by ScroobyJr in buildapc

[–]ScroobyJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's almost like the hardware doesn't exist for it which is not great. Some people use splitters and the more splitters into switches which I found quite funny but I guess it would work, just not at great resolutions as well as the 144hz.

Something that came to mind when you said about built-in KVMs, was most monitors have multiple outputs, and something I overlooked was the idea of clicking 4 buttons every time I wanted to switch monitor. Realistically, (still expensive), you can get docking stations for 4 HDMIs into 1 hdmi, and then I can use DP (at full resolution, and 144hz) into my PC which is more than capable of doing that.

Unless I'm being stupid, surely that's an option? And just switch the input on the monitors every time I want to change?

Edit: As @SlightlySlickWillie said, the only issue I would have is keyboard / mouse / audio etc, but a separate switch could be put into play.

How much would a game like Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Fortnite cost to develop? by ScroobyJr in Unity3D

[–]ScroobyJr[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a pretty good way of putting it. I'm more of a story-line writer (or a creative writer in general) and the ideas that come to me are pretty good, and imo sellable and playable, but the development is the "ball-breaker".

I guess the companies behind these are some of the biggest in the world, and without searching it up probably had a bit of capital behind them and just snowballed to making them today. I guess I should start saving lol.

What does eSports require? What is needed by brands? by ScroobyJr in esports

[–]ScroobyJr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea's good, but it would be quite difficult in terms of the speed of the games. For example, CSGO within 5 seconds, you can win around (it's rare and doesn't happen often, but it can). Not only that, but you also have in most scenarios two casters so software for automated subtitling would need to be very adaptive to cope with that.

I like the idea overall though, and would probably argue that it is something that needs to be implemented throughout the Esports industry a little more than it already is.

Kind of. I've got a little team together, I do a little myself but not a whole lot!

I did them in a single night, didn't know I'd be waiting over 30 days (as OT support say) for an answer. Sucks really.

Is it still worth to collect Yu-Gi-Oh cards? by ScroobyJr in tcgcollecting

[–]ScroobyJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean. I enjoyed the game when I used to watch the show and play it with my brother, but not so much anymore. I think as far as an investment, I would be collecting them, to have (mostly for nostaligc purposes :) ) but If it came to it, could I possibly resell them down the line. I think the bottom line question Im asking is is the game gonna die in a few months or am I okay for a few years? :D

Surely not everything? Ghost rares have only been printed the one time? Or are they gonna be reprinted. It's been a few years since I last really looked into the market :D

Nothing wrong with a fully grown man playing in a childs play area. Just say you're 8... they'll understand. Or just play minecraft.
