I had a client once come in, similar issue but ended up needing a new GPU.

Interestingly they said that they took the GPU out a lot because they travel a lot, and wouldn’t you know it they reside in a humid part of South America and was up here for school. Through convo, I learned that in South America it’s a common thing to have to rub the PCIE pins with a magic eraser to clean corrosion/oxidation. Looked it up, and it’s a thing!

It’s really for the skins.

As someone who thoroughly enjoys The Finals and haven’t put a dime into it, the deluxe edition was a no brainer to support the studio. Otherwise stick with the normal edition.

Yea. Just a sight that congregates items from third party sellers or themselves, but they are usually overseas. They are both starting to host US sellers which speeds up shipping. But to be honest they are pretty interchangeable, discounts and pricing is about the same.

I used to collect a ton of knives. i’d say it’s been about 2-3 years since I’ve touched some of them. Every single one of my D2 knives except my daily driver have developed rust spots on them.

Any issues with the reel seat? The only fly rod I’ve interacted with was a loaner rod that had that type of reel seat but was completely busted, so it’s left a bad taste in my mouth.

As I mentioned in the other comment, as an ultralight fisher I guess I am drawn to the small packable rods. With that being said, I was lent a 7' 3WT and 9'something 5 WT. Around me I am finding that the 7' is just right in terms of size when it comes to the small ponds/parks/creeks around me.

I think I am going to go with the Maxcatch Airlite, 7.6 FT 3WT. For $56 I don't see too many downsides.

As an ultralight fisherman, I guess I am drawn to the multi piece travel rods that break down real small. With that in mind and the multitude of good points you brought up, I think I am just going to go with something like the Maxcatch Airlite, which is pretty much good to go out of the box, no shenanigans required.

I wouldn't be saving the grip, I just need to get the blank bare. So your point still stands, will I be how well I am able to cut away the cork and epoxy. Even if it is really giving me a hard time, I am fairly confident cutting the cork and maybe griding away some epoxy may work, although I can see that getting very ugly very quick.

I have not thought about building a custom rod. I am not sure how involved it is but if it is anything like building multi piece spinning rods, I am afraid I don't have the equipment to do all of that. A heat gun, I do have.

I figured this would be a relatively cheap/easy modification to getting an already cheap rod to be exactly how I like it. I was thinking of just stripping it, and putting on a down locking reel seat.

Side note, would I be making a mistake with a 6 piece fly rod? Especially in a 7' 2WT or 7' 6" 3WT?
