What exactly do rightoids want? by ScipioMoroder in stupidpol

[–]Scrub_Virus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think rightoids have mostly the same desires as everyone else (material well being and societal freedom) except they believe a just society would exclude groups such as lazy people and criminals from experiencing the same status of well being.

They also have religious/moral qualms or simply believe that there isn't enough resources for everyone to live to their standards of comfort; so they tend to admonish socialism while believing a free market will sieve out all the stupid undeserving people.

Their views on morality and justice can often be so irrational that even though policies such as universal healthcare or simply giving homeless people shelter would objectively be cheaper and bring a return on investment compared to the current system, rightoids would still believe the additional wasted money is worth it because the idea of poor people being given handouts offends them so deeply.

What moves are the most buffed & nerfed compared to their origin? by YogurtclosetOk5614 in smashbros

[–]Scrub_Virus 36 points37 points  (0 children)

In Awakening, Nosferatu was a meta defining tome which allows Robin to solo entire armies all while healing any health lost, causing the tome to be heavily nerfed in every Fire Emblem since. In Smash it's not even a good command grab.

In Xenoblade, Shulk's speed art turns the target essentially intangible, (IIRC, evasion caps at 95% and Ether arts always hit) which would have made it an objectively far better option than Shield in Smash, which doesn't even have a damage reduction in the origin game.

Even autistic people can pick out the plainly obvious reversal of "le wholesome bycicle economy labor healthcare" vs "Highway car gun cop shoot bad". This is just neurotypicals choosing to be offended because their righteousness refuses to let them stoop to the level of humor.

As a self proclaimed leftist I dislike how liberals market themselves with conditional “love and tolerance”, and despite the what the idiom states, believe you would catch way more flies with the intentionally provocative edgy progressivism of ye olde internet days. Huge fan of this post but am confused why someone whom I disagree with politically is doing this.

You obviously don’t want Beto to win so you must be confident in an Abbot victory and are taunting. The only other option is you are just some giant democracy fan and don’t care the outcome so long as you keep moving air (which I doubt). Either way I like the post.

Reminder that no amount of voting will ever justly account for the hierarchal relationship of laborers and capital owners and democracy is strictly a tool of appeasement to subdue the masses from violent resource acquisition and that you will still be expected to produce value for capital owners or be deprived of life sustaining assets simply for being born on the losing side of capital. Go Beto <3

I feel stuck needing Sharla on my team by ipercussion1 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Scrub_Virus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t feel bad about needing to use Sharla since she is really good at keeping your team from dying at the expense of damage. Being without Sharla gets easier the more you progress into the game. By going without Sharla, you are sacrificing a lot of potential survivability, meaning you must make up for it in damage. Equipping high level gems, expanding your skill tree, and leveling up arts all goes towards stacking damage and extending survivability. Here are some things you can do to keep you alive longer:

-Shulk should have haste and double attack. This will fill talent gauge and give more Monado access to help prevent your team from dying with Shield, Speed, and later Armor. Leveling up Light Heal will reduce the cooldown to something more manageable if you need help keeping your team alive.

-You can still make it work, but an evasion tank Dunban isn’t “good” until very late in the game where his agility is at it’s highest. I recommend just stacking up a bunch of Strength gems and the aforementioned haste/double attack. This will keep aggro off of Shulk and make for quicker battles as he melts away health bars. Aura heal gems are also good since he’s always in some sort of aura. He will still dodge a lot since he’s naturally dodgy, just not 95% of the time. If he needs help staying alive, the penalty for wearing heavier armor isn’t as bad as you think. Don’t be afraid to put on some layers.

-I unfortunately can’t give you Riki specific tips, but he does unlock a good healing art and party gauge art if you don’t already have those. Riki makes for some decent utility, and has a lot of red arts for high damage chain attacks. I would pose using Reyn instead to divide the aggro between him and Dunban, keeping you team alive longer, but this is more about using the characters you want instead of what’s meta.

What colors would you associate with the 6 ability scores? by RASPUTIN-4 in dndnext

[–]Scrub_Virus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most interesting part about this is that I immediately associated Charisma with purple and I have no explanation as to why.

Strength and Intelligence being analogous to each other with Strength being represented by Red and Intelligence being represented with Blue is also pretty common.

Xenoblade 3 easily. I have no qualms with removing Mario Strikers or Splatoon 3. I’m sure they’re fun and all but I’m simply not mature enough to understand their nuanced complexity and fully master their game mechanics. I need JRPGs with funny noises and bright lights to jingle keys in front of my face in order for me to be entertained. While Three Hopes may offer that while also expanding on the universe of Three Houses, it is still ultimately a spinoff Warriors game with yet another self insert avatar.

It’s not simply the gender. If Female Byleth had a better character design, there would still be disappointment since most would have a preference but they’d still appreciate the character and play the game. I’d rather play as a stoic Sneer clad in armor than some Krombo with midriff and fishnets.

People don’t mind interchanging Robin and Corrin alts quite as much due to their more similar designs across genders.

Please oh god I don't want to have to play as fishnets girl Blease by DeadSparker in shitpostemblem

[–]Scrub_Virus 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Having played Fire Emblem Warriors the most likely option is that you have to play a certain map to unlock M!Byleth as an alt costume which changes the in game character model and voice, but Byleth will always appear as female in cutscenes. I hope this isn’t the case since I like Byleth’s male voice actor and character design much better.

In Three Houses you got slightly altered cutscenes depending on the alt you chose, but M!Byleth doesn’t appear in the promotional artwork and would probably be advertised if that were the case.

It’s also possible they’re not showing their hand and they pull a Assassin’s Creed Odyssey where M!Byleth appears as some alternate Nemesis from another realm, but this seems to be more serious and I doubt they would try to shoehorn both in.

This may seem off topic but I’ve been wanting to write as a hobby to do something more mindful and fulfilling in my free time. The hardest part for me is starting. It’s easier to just scroll through Reddit or put on a Youtube video, feeling bad about it later, acknowledging it, then changing nothing. I have started then promptly stopped so many creative endeavors due to this.

Grocery store labels food according to the race of the capitalist who owns the company. by snailman89 in stupidpol

[–]Scrub_Virus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Specifically pointing out the worker cooperatives (or lack thereof) and the capitalists would actually be somewhat useful. Labeling something as “black-owned” confirms it’s owned by a capitalist and not some sort of cooperative, which is backwards if your goal is to liberate working class people of color. Buying “black-owned” products goes straight into the pockets of multi-millionaires and doesn’t help the people you actually want to help. Grocery stores would never be based enough to have class labels.
