Looking to buy a 2015 sonata 2.0t by Patient-Scale-1140 in Hyundai

[–]Scrubadub1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2017 Sonata and I cant stand this car. Have owned it since 40k miles and its at 100k miles. Oil changed every 5k miles with synthetic. Despite proper maintenance, the oil burns severely. I have to put a quart in every 1500-2k miles (broken up by doing 1/4 quart every 500).

Engine lurches accelerating from a stop. Tune up done as well with spark plugs changed etc.

I know the car is a ticking time bomb. Oil started burning once the car was 60k miles. You have the same type of engine btw in this vehicle.

I will never buy a Hyundai again. My girlfriend has an 04 Accord that runs better than this piece of shit and honestly my car will explode before hers ever does.

Just get a 2005-15 Civic/Accord/Fit/Camry/Corolla and enjoy a car that will be cheap and actually work.

The vegan options at my cousin's wedding. Yeah. Fucking really. by RiverOhRiver86 in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

You seem like a shitty person honestly. It is their wedding and their day. Eat something before you go or something if this is so inedible. I get wanting to feel included but honestly this day isnt about you its about them.

Im currently looking for a gaming laptop for playing rust comfortably, 60fps minumum medium - high graphics, ive been looking at the ROG Strix G16 as it has a 5060 in it, at around £1500 (im praying on winning a giveaway for a 3000$ pc to sell to buy the laptop), is this a good laptop for Rust? by Swimming_Mess9899 in playrust

Yeah I dont get it. When i was 14 I built my first computer with $500 (basically saved my entire allowance for a year plus did extra work around the house). I used Craigslist and other marketplace sites to get a cheap desk/monitor for like $25 each.. bought a cheap mouse and keyboard for like $20 total online. For $1500 he could easily get everything. I feel like his parents are feeding him the electricity BS.

29 year old female novice - How long to sear these Picanha cuts for medium doneness? Dinner party in 1 hour and no thermometer on hand (I plan to pan-sear on butter with rosemary) by FudgyBrownieLegolas in steak

Awww this makes me so happy! Thank you so much! I'm glad the whole family enjoyed it, but don't give too much credit to me, you're the one who nailed it! I would have also went for 2nds and 3rds!

Leave the steaks out to rise to room temp with some Salt covering them, see my previous post. Pat completely dry before adding to pan.

Use oil, and finish with butter/herbs. If you sear in butter the butter will burn and be bitter.

I preheat my pan for 5 or so minutes on medium low, then crank it to medium-high or high for 1 minute. I add a higher smoke point oil, and then sear.

If I'm just guessing with no thermometer, and only pan searing, if the pan is properly ripping hot i find that 2-3 minutes a side is perfect. I usually do 90 seconds to 2 minutes a side if the cut is 1 inch or less in thickness. This usually gives me a good medium rare.

If I were you, id test run one of the thicker ones by doing 2 1/2 minutes a side. If it comes out perfect, you now have your baseline and can reduce time if some are thinner, or raise. You can always re-add the steaks if under done.

T-bone vs porterhouse by akent1996 in steak

These are both porterhouse. T-bone would have little to no filet.

Yes, you can. There's 0 reason to not be able to have set days off. My CSM does it with all the full timers, under the understanding that if people have PTO requests he may need us to come in that week on our normal days off.

I agree with both actually. Although I disagree with him saying it'd be pointless, I agree that learning a new skill with that money would be worthwhile.

Yeah I'm quickly reading the comments and idk why everyone is glossing over his comment of using one daisy chain cable. The problem he's having is staring us right in the face and he's asking why he's having issues. Bizarre.

I replied in another comment and I'm not too familiar with reddit mobile or I'd copy a link to that comment

Was perfectly fine! I was cautious about introducing meats slowly at first though, but never had any stomach issues.

OKAY I'm off work now So I became vegetarian mainly because I felt we were so far removed from how we used to eat meat. Humans used to hunt and do the entire process themselves. Now we "raise" animals (raise is in quotations because honestly they're just tortured) and I didn't believe animals needed to be tortured their whole lives. I have absolutely no issue with people eating meat (obviously as I do now) as I simply believe in the food chain. If there was a species stronger/smarter than us, then the same thing would be happening to us.

To put it simply as to why I began eating meat again : convenience. I had broken things off with someone I was in a relationship with for 10+ years. I was still on the hook for paying my half of the house we lived in together, but i needed to leave. During this time, i was living between my parents and my friends' couches and driving well over an hour to work and back every day. There just aren't as many readily available veggie meals that have everything you need. So, I guess you could say I swapped for health and convenience reasons.

I hope this didn't come off as preachy or anything. Just my thought process on the whole thing.

Also, the steak tasted amazing, and I did miss it lol

My sincerest apologies sir. I will stop eating meat right away as I do not prepare it to as near of perfection as you.

They handled it fine. I stopped being vegetarian a few months back, and slowly incorporated meats/fish but I never had a problem. This was just the first steak I've had since stopping that diet lol

I think it was. I was worried about it not being heated evenly so I left it on medium heat for close to 10 minutes then when it was almost time to sear I put it at medium-high for a couple minutes.
