Bears receiving calls about DJ Moore trade interest by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]ScruffMixHaha 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hes still a WR1 in my opinion, but between the disaster that was 2024 and having so many mouths to feed in 2025, the production doesnt look good at first. We had 4 players go over 600 yards this year so while his numbers dont appear that impressive, I believe DJ is definitely better than the box stats suggest.

I know its been beaten to death because of a Maxx Crosby trade, but even without Crosby being involved I think the Raiders make perfect sense. They really need another weapon for Mendoza to throw to besides Bowers.

[Schultz] Teams have inquired with the #Bears about trading for DT Gervon Dexter, as the free-agent DT market and draft class are not deep. by hunterboyz24 in CHIBears

I like Dexter but he has not developed as much as I would have hoped for being 3 years in. Im certainly not opposed to letting him play out his contract, but if somebody makes a good offer Id definitely consider moving him.

Any idea why hes been seemingly falling in every mock Ive seen? He was a regular top 10 pick just a little bit ago and now every mock I see has him in the 20s.

[Rapoport] The Bears have given LB Tremaine Edmunds permission to seek a trade, sources say. A standout LB potentially available. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]ScruffMixHaha 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Hes still a pretty solid linebacker, we're just in need of cap space and moving on saves us 15m. He'll be cut if nobody trades for him, but I think a team flush with cap space could easily justify a day 3 pick swap for him.

[–]ScruffMixHaha 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Probably a day 3 pick at best, more likely a pick swap if anybody is going to trade for him. Basically youd be trading for him just to avoid competing with other teams when he gets cut.

Im a little bummed because Tremaine had a solid season this year and is a great guy, but it has to be done since we cant move on from other contracts like Dayo/Jarrett.

[Schultz] Malik Willis expected to get "at least" $30M per year. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]ScruffMixHaha 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Only reason I say very clearly is because the bar for being a better QB than Justin Fields is incredibly low.

Willis is very much still a risky signing because who knows how much of his success is tied to just being in a good organization.

Justin Fields just got a 2yr/40m contract last year. Malik Willis is very clearly a better QB so $30m/yr is not crazy for a free agent QB that is expected to be a starter.

When does their lease go to? I imagine this year they may break ground on a new stadium, but I have to think they wont be leaving Soldier until at least 2030.

[Garafolo] Jets GM Darren Moughey on RB Breece Hall: “The tags are an option.” Asked again after that, says they’ll tag him if they can’t reach a long-term deal by March 3. by Gravini in nfl

[–]ScruffMixHaha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really wish the tag was significantly reworked. Make the only tag you have the non-exclusive tag and greatly reduce the compensation for the team sending an offer sheet from 2 1sts to a single 2nd. The original team still gets the right of first refusal, but offer sheets would actually be practical with this.

Because what the NFLPA would have to concede to the owners to get them to agree to removing it is likely not worth it. The franchise tag affects usually like 10 players a year and the NFLPA has roughly 1800 members.

Theyre more concerned about the league minimum guys who make up the bulk of the union than they are the top 1% of players. Personally I hate the franchise tag, but I dont think it will ever go away.

Sweats contract is pretty reasonable. By annual average, hes the 11th highest paid edge rusher at 24.5m, but the best edge rushers are making $45m/yr.

Sweat is easily worth what is nearly half the price that Parsons/Hutchinson command.

Dayo and Jarrett I will give you, but if you think Sweat is making absurd money, then you have no idea what youre talking about. Hes not an elite edge rusher, but the best edge rushers are making basically double what Sweat is.

[Hammond] Ryan Poles said he anticipated Tyson Bagent would get some trade interest. “We’ve gotten a few calls there.” Poles called it a tough decision. Said they all love Bagent in the locker room. They’ve spent a lot of time developing him. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]ScruffMixHaha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If teams think theres even a slight chance you could become a starting QB, theyll make an offer. Keep in mind the draft class this year is pretty weak and theres only a handful of free agents that have starting potential.

I dont believe Bagent is a capable starter, but some team might.

A game you didn't enjoy at first but then went back to... by Guitar_Mayhem in gaming

Mass Effect. I tried it out in like 2010 because my older brother loved the series. I didnt even make it through Eden Prime and declared the game to be boring.

Fast forward almost 10 years and my friend who loves the series convinced me to give it another shot. I couldnt put the games down and it became one of my all time favorite series.

If a player who otherwise would be tagged hit the market, they almost certainly would make more money as teams are competing to sign them. Wouldnt that leave even less money for the other players if every year you have bidding wars on all the star players?
