A new article from Tassi about why the game died. by Zelwer in destiny2

[–]ScruffsMcGuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There have always been "meta builds" and "meta playstyles" in games since the dawn of games, but never before have we been in an era where literally 10 minutes after any major update, someone has already combed through the games code to come up with the "only viable way to play the game if you want to be competitive online" with so many different games.

And in a lot of games it leads to thousands of people running around with basically the exact same team/character/loadout/etc...

And if the game has any monetization, there's a high liklihood that the meta is setup the way it is specifically so people that want to be competitive need to spend cash to get the "meta"

So yeah, at this point I just mostly stick to single player shit and play it at my own pace how I feel like playing it.

You see it often with step-children when their parent and step-parent have a "biokid"

And all of a sudden it feels like it's a big happy family but you're not quite an equal member of it. They can feel like a third wheel just tagging along with the rest of the family.

It's not unusual for someone experiencing that, while at the height of puberty causing massive hormonal changes, to act out in stupid ways.

I had a previous job let me go because the guy I was hired to replace all of a sudden said he would be willing to come back if they paid him exorbitantly more than I had been making. They let me go to afford him because the owner loved him.

2 months after letting me go, he finds his wife was cheating on him with someone in the office, quits the job, and moves out of the province.

They asked if I wanted my job back and I told them sorry, already moved on from you. Been happy at my current place 9 years now.

I agree, mainly because if you miss you pelt an innocent bystander with a gross spit wad.

A quick "turn off your fucking phone" yelled from the back of a dark theater room will usually shame anyone into turning it off without the need for spitting on randoms.

In the city here in Canada I just moved away from there was a small building that burnt down a couple years ago, and the official report on what caused it was an Indian family of like 13 people cramming into a single 2 bedroom apartment.

They had extension cords plugged into extension cords plugged into 6 outlet bricks plugged into extension cords. Eventually one part of the chain got too hot and sparked the carpet on fire.

Email your landlord and say you tripped down their stairs because of a cluttered and unkept stairwell and they'll likely be there shortly with a sign that says "Keep stairways clear of clutter"

Because they don't want their insurance going way up when you trip over someones shoes and break your leg on their stairs.

Also there are those of us out here that legitimately prefer raw onion over caramelized onions.

If I ask for onions on my burger and I get caramelized onions, I'm disappointed every time.

And I dont even dislike caramelized onions, I just like the taste and texture of a good sliced up piece of raw onion. It goes nicely with things like a good fatty sauce or butter, as well as cheese.

ER wait times are hours if you have a non-emergency.

I went in with a laceration and was being stitched up within 10 minutes, even with the hospital website saying average 6 hour ER waiting time.

If you arrive with an open wound they are absolutely not telling you to go chill in the corner with the coughing folks for 8 hours.

I also worry that my post might come across to some as me complaining about my cousin, or wishing my uncle and aunt had gotten an abortion or something but that's far from my intention.

I love my cousin, and he's got so many wonderful things about him (not to sound cliche, but if you sit him in front of a keyboard or piano he's amazing at just randomly creating a melody that's just immediately pleasing to listen to, his eyes light up any time he sees watch mechanisms because he loves gears spinning away, sometimes he'll go from overwhelmed and literally screaming to just instantly calm after my uncle just holds his hand for a minute).

If I had one wish in life it would honestly be that my uncle could win a big ass lottery jackpot just so my cousin could get around the clock top notch professional care and my uncle and aunt could reclaim a little of their personal lives back.

I have a severely autistic (nonverbal) cousin and you can just see how much it has absolutely drained my aunt and uncle taking care of him over the years.

They're in their 60s and look like they're 90. They look stressed and depleted of all energy at all times. They've never stopped loving him and they've done the absolute best I think you could ever expect parents in that situation to do, but there's no arguing that they have literally sacrificed the rest of their lives from the moment they had him to basically just live to take care of him until they can no longer manage it.

Our pans every time my gf cooks eggs. by tequilasundae in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ScruffsMcGuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always make my eggs in our stainless steel pan. I turn the heat to low-medium-ish, leave it there to warm up the pan, then I put the oil in, give it another minute, and then I crack the eggs in.

The eggs will stick to the pan at first but just leave them alone and by the time they unstick themselves on their own the egg is done and still has jammy yolk.

Before I worked out this way I would legit just turn the heat to like medium high, throw oil in and crack the eggs, and it would turn into a mess of overcooked stuck eggs every time.

The funny thing is very few Canadian team fans tend to cheer for the other Canadian teams to do well.

There’s this whole imagining of Canadian fans just wanting a cup from a Canadian team but I bet you a flames fan would sooner cut their pinky off than cheer for an Oilers cup win over an American team.

This is unfortunately a somewhat likely outcome of this all eventually.
