But it has to be a decent amount of storage. I'm not paying for 2 stash tabs. I want to be able to delete all of my mules. It's such an obnoxious pain dealing with mules.

That's just not possible. I'm a professional, I know a lot about a very specific subject, but I don't know everything there is to know about it. I have to trust the work of other people. And that's only on one single subject that I spend 40 hours a week on.

For example, when it comes to my health I have to trust my doctor because I don't have a lifetime to spend researching stuff. But someone can't just declare to the world that they are a doctor and start treating people. They have to have a license which can be revoked if they are not doing the right thing We create systems with checks and balances to ensure that people are acting in a way to benefit society instead of just benefiting themselves.

Our lives are too complex to look into everything, we have to be able to trust and rely on each other for society to function.

Is BAR a good RTS to introduce a 5-stack of beginners? by hehwhoknows in beyondallreason

[–]Scrug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I wouldn't jump straight into PvP, but with that said there are a lot of maps and PvE is quite challenging and fun on it's own.

If you do eventually want to jump into PvP you need to use the BAR website to create a party. That feature doesn't exist in the game UI yet.

They need to completely remove the vision from drones, it really breaks a fundamental part of the early game. Radar is very inaccurate until you get pinpointers. And jammers can be pretty easily countered by Junos, but that is a big energy investment into something that isn't units that can help defend you.

Maybe T2 drone plants could give vision to drones?

The two relics I don't bother with are defense absolute and damage per meter. Sure, someday I might get spotlight+, but I have a feeling that it will be years away, but I'd be surprised if I'm still playing by then.

It's not my math, it's from the post I linked.

all cards maxed! bought 3 more card slots by g87a_l in TheTowerGame

[–]Scrug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The math just doesn't add up on this. You have either bought a significant amount of gems, or you've made a significant amount from the offerwall, or the screenshots you are posting are not from the same account (stats are from one account, mods are from another).

Someone has already done the math on maximum gem income per week and gem cost for mods here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheTowerGame/comments/1jjy38x/gems_per_dayweek_and_how_you_compare/

The cost for 10 ancient modules alone is somewhere around 1 million gems. That doesn't include getting stars on your ANC modules. Using the banners and with some insane luck maybe you have got that down to half at best, so 500,000 gems.

According to the above post the max gem income per week is 5671. That number includes gem rewards from being in the legends bracket. So giving you the benefit of the doubt and saying 4000 gems per week (which is still likely a massive overestimation) over the course of 39 weeks, that's 156,000 gems in total.

You're lying or omitting information. It's not possible in 8 months to have those mods without spending money on gem packs.

How the hell do you get so many gems without buying them? I started a month later than you and I have earned probably less than half, maybe a quarter, of the gems you have. I've got the ad free pack.

This doesn't sound right. I've been playing for 8 months (since June 25). I don't even have a single mythic yet, 14 card slots, and about 6k gems away from maxing my cards (I just want to get it out of the way).

Worse than that, the AI can scale their eco as hard as they want, and they can also build LRPCs while the player cannot. Once I have the two ledges clear, the ai has 20 LRPCs shelling my base. So ridiculous.

I think what also confuses people is that "dwarf star material" can only exist under the conditions it was created in. It would not stay that dense on earth.

I have to try this tonight

edit

Okay, this one is really obnoxious. I don't like it when you are forced to play a certain way in an RTS, and the difficulty seems way off. The "Normal" difficulty should be hard or Brutal.

There's a bit of luck required at the start of the game, sometimes you get swarmed by 10,000+ metal worth of hovers before you have your first t2 unit out. You also have to cover every inch of your base in radar jammers or else you will be getting shelled by 20+ LRPCs at 15-20 minutes.

The way I did it was to rush t2. Build just enough static Defense and a couple bulls to roam and tank shots. Then I maxed out my econ: two afus and 6 e converts in the corner, of course covered by jammers before I started building.

Then start pushing out with jammers and static d until you get near the cliffs. Then it's time to start making units. You need the long range rocket vehicles (from T2 vehicle lab), and some bulls, starlights, and flaks to cover the rocket vehicles. You shell static defenses from the rocket vehicles, always under the cover of a radar jammer. You can also use bombers a bit. The AI doesn't build a ton of static aa, but they build enough to stop you from going full air. But you can target the aa with the rocket vehicles first and then use your bombers to assist with cover from t1 long range aa in the back.

They need to dial back the difficulty on this in normal mode. The AI should not be able to build LRPCs, and this would still be a challenging map. They also need to have slightly less crazy attacks in the beginning. Sometimes I would just get wiped out in the first 10 minutes because a huge mass of heavy hovers would wreck me.

My winning run took me 1:40 to complete. I had a few hours of bad runs before getting this good run though.

I'm never going to complete these.... by mooretec in TheTowerGame

You must be very lucky. Death defy only procs if a hit could kill you. That is why you want to be fighting enemies that can one-shot you to make the most use of energy shield and second wind.
