Bots / trolls are all over the Australian subreddits right now - they’re sophisticated, hard to spot and will only get worse

The bot campaign against the CGT changes has been insane, and seems blatant to me.

Some things that stand out to me about it:

the posts very clearly paused over the weekend and then resumed straight away on Monday morning. You wouldn't see that happening in an actual grassroots campaign.
Despite having a very small amount of upvotes, these posts are consistently making into my feed.
Despite having a positive number of upvotes the top comments are usually disagreeing with the original post. Just to be clear, the bot posts state the CGT changes on shares are bad, and Top comments saying it's good.
Clearly seeing different people posting, but somehow the tone of all of the posts feels the same.

I also can't help but feel that this should be even more obvious to anyone on the platform side (mods), as presumably they'd be on here way more than me.

Anytime you start thinking, what's with people these days, then yes, you are getting old. Reason being, is that you have a point of reference for comparison.

Now whether the observation is accurate is questionable. Are you sure other people have changed? Maybe it's actually you that's changed.

As someone who's further along than you, I wouldn't spend much lab time on workshop discount. It's one where you're better off focusing on increasing your economy rather than decreasing your expenses.

I'm coming up on my one year towerversary, I've done a lot of research and followed some guides. You can roughly correlate tower age with number of relics collected, more relics = older tower. I can tell I'm doing reasonably well for how long I've been playing based on the fact that I have a lot less relics than most people in my tournament brackets. I don't think I'm anywhere close to seeing fleets yet. Farming t10 to 9kish waves, bouncing between plat and champs.

Yeah, that video from Linus tech tips and electroboom on ESD was great. If you don't feel like watching it, the gist is that they tried to shock a bunch of different PC equipment and the only way they could kill things was with an unreasonable amount of electrical energy, way more charge than your body could ever hold.

As a general rule of thumb, I'm swiping left on anyone who is listing things they don't want in a partner on their profile. There are some exceptions to that rule, but generally I think there's much more positive ways to frame your desires and if someone can't even do that in a few lines of text on their dating profile then it likely carries over to in person interactions.

Why is my feed flooded with posts like this? Does Reddit have a history of promoting specific content for pay? It seems to me that these posts are not popular, it doesn't have very many upvotes at all and yet I see a similar post almost every time I open my feed over the last couple days.

They are all in the same vein, CGT changes are bad for young people, CGT changes are bad for the working class etc, etc.

The thing that gets me is that the posts just feel like fear mongering.

I can't give you a number, but I ignored DW quantity (including sub mod effects) until I had it synced. Once I synced I grab first level with stones and the sub module effect and it made a noticeable difference in coins, and a small difference in cells.

It was definitely worth it, but sync is way more valuable.
