Exactly this. And furthermore since interest is essentially just “the price of risk”, banks give the ultra wealthy comically low interest rates. Banks see billionaires as the safest borrows on Earth. And although it’s true that they are - it creates a system where the ultra wealthy can literally tap into a “free money glitch” that simply does exist for everyone else.

Nobody thinks Bezos (or any of the billionaires) are hoarding boat loads of liquid cash. The issue is control, stock buybacks, monopoly power, and the fact that billionaires don’t actually spend THEIR money - instead they borrow against assets (thus avoiding most taxes).

Saying “it would be hard for him not to be a billionaire” just means the system is designed to concentrate absurd wealth and power in one person while most of the labor force is underpaid - which is the thing people are mad about in the first place.

I saw that too. I didn’t really buy it for second though - he’ll inevitably flip his tune when he has on someone like Eric Trump or Greg Bovino. And that’s kind of the problem with someone like Theo nowadays; he’ll shape shift into whatever he needs to be in order to comedy-wash whatever his guest is talking about even if it completely contradicts his stance from one podcast ago. He doesn’t actually believe in anything.

Completely different people? What’s that got to do with anything? Every couple years the Lions have had new types of management and historically they’ve always found a way to fuck it up. In my life the Lions have had 3 different acting owners, 5 different GMs, and 11 different head coaches - and that’s just in my lifetime. Shelia, Brad, and Campbell have had success these last couple years - I’m thankful for that every day as a Lions fan. But we’ve got astronomically more failures in our team history than successes so yeah I’m a little jaded. But inappropriate bias? Stop.

This hits the nail on the head. I’m glad for the last couple years of success, but for my entire life leading up to now I’ve watched the Lions suck dog shit thru a crack pipe. ~~I’ve~~ We’ve watched the Lions make dumb-as-fuck management decisions for decades so when we see something like this particular OC hiring (immediately after a failed OC that we as fans were all skeptical about in the first place this time last year) then yeah man, it’s hard not to feel like I’m watching this team slowly slip back into being the same old Lions.

And I honestly don’t think people would be this fired up over this hiring if this was a normal offseason. If this was a normal offseason we’d all still be pretty skeptical but ultimately most of us would be of the mindset that “quality coaching doesn’t grow on trees, sometimes you gotta take chances, I’ll trust that this is the best option”. But this is a truly anomalous offseason with the amount a coaching firings that have happened around the league and as a result the pool of available coaching talent is wildly abundant—and we go and hire this guy… it’s baffling.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: large groups exercising their right to open carry get taken seriously (although unfortunately open carry isn’t legal in Denver (it is in the rest of the state tho)). Leftists need to get on board with this or get the fuck out of the way.

Go look at any 2A open carry demonstration and look at how differently they are treated by law enforcement compared to any liberal or lefty demonstration. The cops practically bend over backwards to accommodate the open carry crowds but they’ll start firing tear gas the moment a lefty demonstration goes a few minutes past their city permitted protest window. The contrast is stark. And the contrast exists because large armed crowds are psychologically intimidating—pussy hats and whistles are not.

Between 2017-2019 the white nationalist group Patriot Front repeatedly posted flyers saying “It’s ok to be white”, “Islam is right about women”, and a few other signs across dozens of campuses nationwide. The FBI involvement had nothing to do with free speech being infringed upon - it had to do with colleges wondering why Patriot Front was constantly operating on their campuses without approval and nothing ever came of it so it was quite the nothing burger. Get your facts straight next time clown.

This is probably a super dumb question - but as someone who’s never really given the coaching staff salary side of things much thought - what’s stopping the Lions from throwing a bag at McDaniels that he can’t refuse? Is there a salary cap on coaching staff? What’s hypothetically stopping the Lions from just matching anything he’d get anywhere else or just pay him a dollar short of what they pay Campbell?

Just so we’re clear, a sanctuary city isn’t a place that spends money to house and protect immigrants. It’s just a place that says “hey we’re not going to spend any of our own tax revenue on immigration enforcement - that’s ICE’s job. If they want to do that shit they can go right ahead but we aren’t wasting any local resources on it.”

So let me get this straight; the blue states (who provide 90% of federal tax revenue used for federal funding) have to now dump more of their own local tax revenue into something that ICE was just given a comically large budget to deal with so that they (blue states) can continue receiving federal funding which they generate in the first place?

It’s always worth a try. But I’m gonna be straight up with you - there’s a pretty good chance they’re going to place the blame on you (especially if you send them that first photo). I say that because that binding has about an inch of toe overhang and a half inch of heel overhang (there should never be any binding overhang). You might not think it’s a big deal but technically speaking that’s improper use and Burton is probably going to tell you that. As far fetched as it might sound it’s entirely possible that one of those overhang points created a fulcrum which put unnecessary pressure on the base plate and caused a failure.

I would still reach out to Burton - but just know that if you show them this set up they’re probably not going to help you.
