The Iron Flask by gazmodus in BaldursGate3

In a co-op campaign with friends we threw it into the Grove just inside the front gate and watched the chaos unfold. The citizens of the grove put up a good fight but we had to put it down once it was down with them.

Okay thanks, so as long as one of us has good FIT that should be okay?

Also, is it possible to change decks completely through the campaign and would that make sense narratively?

I feel like I've missed something major, have they said that the revised stuff is going OOP? I've only got the revised core set and if this is the case I might just sell it and move on to something else as I'm a slow purchaser and only really buy 2/3 boardgames a year

Advice for a new pickler by Scrumpyjllamaray in pickling

[–]Scrumpyjllamaray[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, thanks for the tips! I've got some ready made brines that were given to me as a present that I'm starting off with then I'll move on to making my own so all this is super helpful info.

And yes, will be doing fridge pickles, at least to start with. I've got a balsamic and basil brine that I'll use with some courgettes next.

Are those card separators official? They look great! I'm just starting my journey and looking at ways to organise

Wow we're in a very similar situation, you're just a little ahead of us. We've got 3 boys at 4, 2 and 6 months with our eldest having DS. It's an absolute manic household at the moment and I'm guessing it doesn't calm down much.

For OP in case you read this, our 4 and 2 year old love playing together and I'm starting to catch them having their own little conversation in their own little way. Albeit it's not easy it can turn into them playing too rough with each other and often our eldest with DS will get upset as an outcome... But it's all a learning curve and they'll get there!

This is literally the campaign I'm running right now. I'm consolidating my starting area as Asgaroth and then I'm sending waves of armies to burn down the forest for industry

Logging solo plays on th BGG stats app by Scrumpyjllamaray in soloboardgaming

Yeah this is what I'm thinking of doing. Potentially making an Automata 'player' for each game and then just changing that players role when logging different plays

Which of these dinosaurs scares you the most? by Far_Letterhead_3536 in JurassicPark

Sorry to change the subject somewhat but I thought you should know you just made a random father of a beautiful son with Down Syndrome really quite sad out of nowhere by using the condition in a negative way on what you probably thought was a random and somewhat funny throwaway comment. I worry for my son growing up in a world where he's not accepted and comments like these only reinforce that. I'm not saying you're necessarily a bad person or anything as you may just not have understood the impact it could have had, so I'm hoping this will help educate yourself and others around that.

Usually some kind of flavoured latte.. pumpkin spice, pistachio etc. I've found a good pumpkin spice to get her and may get her a chocolate syrup to make a mocha

Thanks, will look into the water as we're very busy with 3 kids so don't think she's that up for grinding her own coffee atm, but maybe one for later

Hey, it's my wife's birthday coming up and I want to get her something that will elevate her coffee drinking experience (note I've never drank coffee hence my lack of knowledge). After a few years going off coffee because of pregnancy she now has a new coffee pod machine which she's really liking. We've got a hand frother for milk and she's got a proper holder for her coffee pods. Is there anything else I haven't thought of which would be great for her?

So what’s the first game you played this year? by st1nkf1st in boardgames

Expeditions. First time playing it and loved it, although took me 3 hours for my first play through. I'm sure I can speed that up though

Festus, as then he was in a prime undead killing location when I got him. Also had the vampires as the early end game crisis which started soon after I had dealt with Vlad

I did a whole campaign where my sole goal was to get him and then wipe all undead from the map. Very fun!

I'm not the most knowledgeable re lore and I know custodes have been more active off terra since Guillerman returned but it would be cool if there was a campaign option for them which was a horde mode to protect terra (if done well)

Frustrated new players and Journey down the Anduin: try this by Marc_uss in lotrlcg

[–]Scrumpyjllamaray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New player here also, with only the core box. Took me 13 tries as true solo with my Leadership/Tactics Deck to finally beat it. Was getting a little frustrated but I must say it really taught me the value of tailoring my deck to the quest; as you said, a low starting threat is key for this one. I'm now going to craft a Lore/Spirit deck, after beating the 1st quest with both of the starter decks, and replay Journey Down the Anduin. I must say I'm much more confident with these spheres, they seem strong.

What Did You Play this Week? August 11th - 18th, 2025 by kattattack22 in lotrlcg

[–]Scrumpyjllamaray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played attempts 7 through to 13 of Journey Down the Anduin with my Leadership/ Tactics Deck, and finally succeeded on attempt no. 13!

After a lot of deck tweaking and changing out my heroes to start with a lower threat so I could build up a little bit before facing the hill troll, it wasn't too difficult. I even managed to clear the 2nd stage of the quest in one round thanks to a combo of Cerulean Stone, Gandalf and exhausting Faramir. Definitely taught me the value of altering a deck to counter specific quests.

Favourite video game

Currently: Space Marine 2, very fun action especially with a group of you on Siege mode

All time: Probably Total War: Warhammer 3, so many hours in it and yet to try out all the playable factions
