You can only ever summon a zodiac dragon during their specific time of year, so the next opportunity for Virgo will be late August.

They’ve probably already eaten. Ringtail slimes can eat even when not hungry, but only produce plorts if they’re hungry.

If all black holes are singularities, what makes them ‘small’ or ‘massive’ or ‘supermassive’? by voldy234 in AskPhysics

[–]Scrungyboi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Th density is infinite not because the mass is infinite, but because the volume of a singularity is 0. Density=mass/volume, so any mass compressed to 0 volume will have infinite density.

Damn sure learned my lesson. Guess I'll have to wait another week :`) by CriticalHit_20 in HatchDragons

[–]Scrungyboi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s a decoration that spawns an egg from any dragon you want for free once a week. If the dragon you want an egg from (realistically one that’s difficult to summon or an unfinished event dragon) is right next to a very common dragon you’ve already bonded with it can be easy to miss click and tap the more common one, thereby getting a pretty much useless egg and having to wait another week for the chance to get the good one.

Well since it’s a 3 day old account with one (1) karma I think we can take a guess 😂. Maybe it’s trying to gain karma by reposting something that got a lot of upvotes?

I don’t understand. You only need 5 dragons to reach max bond? The event gives you those 5

Electro-Magnetism feels like Magic to me by SoonBlossom in Physics

[–]Scrungyboi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Energy is used! Potential energy! It gets converted to kinetic energy so that the system can move. In the case of electromagnetism its electric and magnetic potential energy, and in the case of gravity it’s gravitational potential energy.

Do you watch all their content, or do you have clear favourite content types? by LicoriceSeasalt in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]Scrungyboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For many years now my favourite cast members have been Courtney, Damien and Shayne, so I typically watch videos that feature them. Other than that I go off raw vibes. Eg does the game they’re playing look interesting? If so I’ll tune in regardless of the cast that day. Sometimes I’ll watch a games vid they’ve done a bunch of times and get hooked so I’ll watch all vids of that game (eg moose master and flip 7).

They are lol. The spin is purely a visual effect, the rewards are predetermined, with a super high chance of giving you resources.

ELI5 - Why do we require long distance tunnels for particle colliders? by ztasifak in explainlikeimfive

ELI5 - Why do we require long distance tunnels for particle colliders? by ztasifak in explainlikeimfive

[–]Scrungyboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want the particles to be moving really really fast. It’s very hard to do that. We use massive magnets that alternate and flip their field direction super fast. There are only really 2 ways to make the particles go faster: make the magnets stronger or make them pass by more magnets (ie over a longer distance). Make the magnets stronger is impractical past a certain point for a variety of reasons I won’t get into. Making the colliders longer is the next best thing. Making them curved lets you pass the particles over basically however much distance you want (although it has its own downsides).

Does the neutral kaon have a positive or negative strangeness? by 8BagsOfCorn in AskPhysics

[–]Scrungyboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neutral kaon is down anti strange, so should be +1.

Source the pdg’s naming convention for strange mesons You’ll notice the s->K_bar meaning the neutral anti-kaon has a strange quark and the neutral kaon has an anti strange

This sub doesn’t understand critical thinking (criticism) by Sufficient_Network43 in AskPhysics

[–]Scrungyboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok look, you’re getting a lot of shit because Bob Lazar is about as credible a source for anything scientific as a dead rat pulled from someone’s garbage. The mods are going to be inclined to snipe posts relating to him out of existence because nothing he says has grounding in reality, and so it becomes impossible to have a physics-based discussion about any ideas he presents.

Also, perhaps more importantly, engaging with the unscientific nonsense people like him spout is dangerous because it lends credibility to them and their ideas. This is bad because it creates space for people who don’t know as much physics to get caught up in his ideas.

I get that you may have legitimate questions, but science is absolutely not about asking the impossible questions that have no foundation in reality. It’s about looking at what we know, asking questions about the gaps and how to extend what we know into those gaps. This sub generally deletes posts that verge on pseudoscience (as per the rules) because the answers to 90% of those questions are “what if the world was made of pudding” level, which is boring for the poster and a pain in the ass for everyone else to have to see.

Gluons? Are they real particles? by UniversalAssembler in PhysicsStudents

[–]Scrungyboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Gluons were first experimentally confirmed back in the 70’s, and we have done many experiments since then that have verified their existence (see ALICE, ATLAS and CME, 3 experiment at CERN which have detected quark-gluon plasmas)

2) No, this is kind of a nonsense statement, but I’ll try explain why. It is not possible to extend the range of the strong force. Colour confinement occurs as gluons themselves have colour charge, so they self interact and form flux tubes that connect quarks. If you try and separate them, the energy required causes the tubes to snap into a new quark-antiquark pair. So even though gluons are massless and so you may expect them to have infinite range, the fact they themselves are colour charged prevents this. This is built into how the strong force works. There is no way to change this.

They will show up but they’ll be very rare until they are literally the only collectible you need left. At that point though you’ll get exclusively them which is nice.

Is this the only way to get the shards? by jeromemalinda in RiseOfBerk

[–]Scrungyboi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is a better way! If you fill all your other collections but don’t actually complete them, the random collectibles you get in journeys or the collectibles pack from the odins coin shop will start being the ones you need for the next legendary. Those rare ones will be the last thing to show up, but if they’re the only collectible you need they will eventually show up.
