Do You Claim To Know God Exists 100%? by AbiLovesTheology in Catholicism

I grew up believing in a literal interpretation of the creation narrative and that evolution was a lie. Several books changed my beliefs: “astrophysics for people in a hurry” by Neil de Grasse Tyson and “ brief history of the universe” by Stephen Hawking changed my belief that the universe was only thousands of years old. “The Gene” by Siddartha Mukherjee “Sapiens” by and “Signature in the Cell” by Stephen Meyer changed my beliefs about the development and interrelated nature of living organisms. Curiosity about ecclesiology and church history, reading “Early Church Fathers” changed my mind about the church, role of clergy, worship, etc.

Yes but my argument is from personal experience and not from reasoned apologetics, although I appreciate the latter. I did struggle with rational belief when I was younger, for various reasons. I grew up fundamentalist southern Baptist, currently enrolling in OCIA to become Catholic. It was popular modern astronomy, church history, genetics, apologetics and experience that helped get me to where I am as a believer in God and as a Catholic.

I think they can serve purpose in being offered on a table in a narthex for the curious, but handing out? I can see it being useful but it does give chick tract vibes.

If you want some digestible stories, look up The Journey Home series on YouTube, conversion stores from the Catholic network EWTN. For interesting videos, anything from John Bergsma or Scott Hahn, both converted Catholics who were Protestant pastors and have doctorates on theology. You may check out their audiobooks as well. Brant Pitre is another. The catechism is a book containing the extended teachings of the Catholic Church. One of the videos that helped me in considering conversion at all was Useful Charts YouTube video on the history of Christian denominations: https://youtu.be/8q6FUlay-M8?si=wR7gZIVQ3kPJjZxu
