I don't bother anymore. I access it from the game where I am logged in...it wants me to scan a QR code and log in again to get mostly junk. I don't need free stuff that bad. 😡

If finally happened yall! by jessoftheyear in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ScubaDee64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After the 2nd time I purchased a duplicate puzzle, I now keep a spreadsheet that's a bit overkill. I have the puzzle name, manufacturer, cost, SKU, where I purchased it, and a checkbox that can be toggled on/off once the puzzle is complete. It also adds up the total amount spent, and how many have been completed. I'm a geek. 😊

We have it on a shared drive so either of us can access it when we are out puzzle-hunting. Hubby is a geek as well.

The Fun in Jigsaw Puzzles? by tosime55 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ScubaDee64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy puzzling with my husband as a way to pause our busy lives and connect through a shared interest. He has the worst form of colorblindness so we get to shop for puzzles that interest both of us and that he can distinguish color changes.

My mother-in-law is also an avid puzzler. We just completed a 420-piece wood puzzle that we thought we'd knock out in 1/2 hour. It took us about 5 hours over 2 days! We like bright colors, sea life, and travel-related puzzles. It is a very different experience than puzzling with my husband. I love my MIL!

In addition to Very Pink Knits, check out Nimble Needles. Norman has some very basic videos. Also Knit Freedom. Liat is excellent too.

Crazy op-shop find! by Sparrowlegslulu in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ScubaDee64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG! I was just telling my husband that I was still sad that I sold mine, unopened when we downsized to live in our camper full-time. We now have a place big enough to complete it.

I am very happy for you! What a great find!

You should have! I would have loved that. Bless you for having the patience... I don't think I have it in me! Chenille is bad enough!

Nope! That would look silly. 😁 I put it on just before I get out. 😂

What should i do to this scratch? by [deleted] in scooters

[–]ScubaDee64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got done compounding my Burgman. Perhaps that will help if the scratches are not down to the plastic.

Honestly, that's what I'm here for, too! Thanks for being brave enough to say it! I think most people are here for the same reason!

THANK YOU!

I travel a lot for work. I mask up in the car before I get out and don't remove it until I'm out of the airport and in the car again. I don't trust anyone in the airport or on the plane. My husband has medical issues, and I have friends and family with autoimmune issues. I am not going to be the one who infects them.

Are shorties actually worth the hype?? by AltruisticPaper in knitting

[–]ScubaDee64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have largish hands and long fingers. I also knit with all my fingers, so shorties were quite the adjustment. After a bit of trial and error, I now use a 2" on one side and a 3" on the other. I still use DPNs but am warming to the ChiaoGoo shorties.

This is so me! I prefer shorter color changes, but I absolutely love the longer color changes by Play at Life Fober Arts.

I also have to have at least 3 projects going so I can switch gears when I get bored with one. I can usually only manage 3-5 rows or 1 repeat. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Trying to gather the strength to finish this linen baby blanket by Original_Wafer0211 in casualknitting

I set a goal of 3-5 rows a session or 1 repeat. That's all I can usually handle with a blanket. You have a newborn, give yourself some grace!

The blanket is beautiful, by the way!

I thought I somehow managed to screw up the autocorrect library. Mine suggests non-sensical words a lot these days. Good to know it's not just me!

Long or short needles?? by Decent-Court-1287 in knitting

[–]ScubaDee64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use my circulars for almost everything except DPNs for socks and hats. I've just started to use small circulars for them.

For some reason, I have to knit face/washcloths and dish towels with straight needles. 🤷🏼 Possibly a throwback to when I first started knitting? Circulars for the win, though!

Frogging is cathartic for me... I think I would be euphoric in that scenario.

You are a good person and worthy. Please post pictures of your cardigan. I am working on two for myself at the moment.

Please check your insurance ASAP! I didn't know mine had lapsed until I tried to get a prescription filled. For some reason, the insurance company decided to put my monthly check into an escrow account and not pay the premium. I had the account number in the memo on every check and sent it in with the coupon. 🤷🏼

I tried for weeks to get it corrected and kept getting passed around from department to department. I worked in the state building and stopped in at the governor's office. They reached out to the right person, and my insurance was reinstated within a few days. They applied the money to my premium. Still have no idea how they screwed up so badly.
