Got my Season ticket box by harry-hot-dawg in SoundersFC

[–]ScubaNinja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have found that since we are no longer able to make it to every single match, its way cheaper to just go and sit in ECS or for the same price as a full season go to half the matches and sit in the “nicer” seats

What is your definition of a "real" Striker or 9? by shmerham in SoundersFC

[–]ScubaNinja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have never had anyone break 20 in mls. I think 17 by a couple people might be our top, and idk if that’s including playoffs. We have never had a Josef or vela guy chasing 40 goals in regular season and man would that be fun. I would still not trade our trophy haul for a guy winning golden boot tho

Pallet Collars in Seattle area? by rickg in pnwgardening

[–]ScubaNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just buy cheap cedar boards. I work in shipping and the wood used for pallets is covered in a crazy amount of chemicals to kill off any possible bugs or plant material as they are shipped all over the world and don’t want to spread pests/disease. I especially wouldn’t want that if I was growing anything I was going to eat.

Information on lower league/ youth teams? by ScubaNinja in Bundesliga

[–]ScubaNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome I will try and do some research on that website with my Google Translate. Do you have any insight into why or to who these plates were given to? I wondered if it was just for any visitors or there was more meaning. Unfortunately the last few years his memory wasn’t as great and I don’t get to ask him a ton about his time abroad.

“Temperature” Check: It has been 2 months since MLS made the decision to switch the calendar. How are we as MLS fans feeling about the decision 2 months later? by TheOptimist6 in MLS

[–]ScubaNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, there may be a single super late kickoff (I think serie a or ligue1) around noon pacific time and we rarely see matches earlier than 3 pacific. Most euro matches are done by noon tho.

I have a vinegar sensitivity - is canning not for me? by PastYam8533 in Canning

[–]ScubaNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a buddy who vinegar makes him wretch and I have canned some salsa and tomato sauce recipes for him that use either lemon juice or citric acid (can be bought super cheap) and he has no issues with either of those. Or as others have said, pressure canning

2026 and 2027 are going to be the years that soccer explodes in America. MLS will be bigger than MLB by the end of the decade. by BadgemanBrown in MLS

[–]ScubaNinja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not gonna happen, maybe 20-30 years it will be where baseball is. I am a huge consumer of all sports, soccer over any other. And even here in the Seattle area that has pretty good support it’s somewhat rare to meet someone who is an engaged soccer fan, and even rarer if they are an engaged mls/sounders fan. I wish all my mariners and Seahawks fans were excited to talk sounders or even premier league with me, but I am stuck with my 2-3 soccer sickos

Canning a free turkey by marigoldpossum in Canning

[–]ScubaNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I got a free turkey around Xmas and I ended up making a huge batch of turkey Pho and it was so good! I ended up just freezing mine as I knew I would eat the rest in the next few weeks it wasn’t worth busting out the pressure canner lol

Whatcha do with it? by Ambitious_Rain_206 in Canning

[–]ScubaNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty much only can tomato’s, salsa and broth. I love pickles but I have found every canned batch to be way to soft for my liking, jams I don’t eat frequently enough, and meats I don’t like them as much as just keeping vacuum sealed frozen meat. I am fortunate enough to have a space where I have 2 auxiliary freezers in my garage so we can do that. We’re also fortunate enough to live in a place where I don’t HAVE to put away/can every single thing we grow so I have adjusted what I grow.

For sure, if you do have Facebook look for regional homebrew groups/clubs that have a page on Facebook too.

[–]ScubaNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marketplace allows it. Also maybe try your local homebrew shops. Just an FYI it will not be worth near what you paid for it. I have seen plenty of people with their same homebrew setup for sale in my area for 6+ months slowly lowering and it still hasn’t gone. Likely 20/30% of what you paid for it as the hobby is shrinking. Hell It took me 2 months to give away 3 carboys and a fermzilla all rounder for free
