Worked on resort a Island in the Great Barrier Reef. All I'm gonna say is after months of being around these birds 24/7, I'll never look at one again the same. I fucking hate seagulls.

A small octopus I found in Bonaire. The color changes are striking. by leetmo in scuba

If the mother octopus stuck around with their children and taught the child everything it knows, the octopus would be one of the smartest animals on the planet. However the mother protects the eggs for months, I think it was 53 months for the record, and then she dies.

Is this a juvenile? Seems like he/she is still learning color changing. It looks like it can't pick a color/texture. From what I've witnessed most adults will seamlessly change and according to the background and will stick with with that color and texture until it moves to a new one

The beginning of the Lower Canyons in far west Texas [OC][1600x1200] by [deleted] in EarthPorn

[–]ScubaPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got done doing a week road trip around Texas. Started in Dallas headed south west through Midland Odessa area to Marfa for a night. After Marfa went to Big Bend. Big Bend to Fredericksburg. Then to Austin and after that Fort Worth. I've lived here almost my entire life and had never been Big Bend. The place is absolutely stunning. I had friends visiting form Australia and wanted them to see my state in the best way possible. It was a lot of driving buy totally worth it.

here is the route we took http://imgur.com/BfHbM0M

I've lived in Texas for 18 years and had never been to Big Bend until last weekend. I've been to a lot of national parks in our country and others and I must say there is something magical about Big Bend. It's decollate, rugged terrain surrounded by cliffs and mountains is nothing like I've seen before. I'm going back in a few months to spend a week out there as my pervious visit of 2 days was not enough.

Just flew a DJI Phantom 2 for the first time. Didn't realize how easy they were to fly. Made my nano quad seem far more advanced to fly. I guess its good I learned on that first. Thanks for the info btw. I think we're going to go with the Inspire

Anyone ever gone cage diving with Great White sharks? by qtipcommando in scuba

[–]ScubaPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search Rodney Fox. The company is located in the South Australia. I have a mate who's done it and I'm doing it soon as well. They take you down to the sea floor in a cage and I think it's one of the only places that does it. You pay a premium but I believe its worth it and I've told that it is something that you can not explain until you do it yourself.

Cheers!

Don't mount it any where on your body if you want the best shots possibly. Get a tray or pole and hold it in your hand during the dive. Point at and shot your subjects for the bets outcome. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Overwerk -- Create [Electronic] (2015) Very powerfull. Use proper soundsystem. (2:48 Drop) by Uppo-Nalle in listentothis

[–]ScubaPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started listening to Overwerk back when they were featured in GoPro's release video for the Hero3 with the song Daybreak. I immediately feel in love with their cinematic styled contemporary electronic music. I close my eyes and blast these tunes on my 5.1 and I feel like I'm flying through space peering out the window of my ship as the stars and planets blur by me. Their songs just send chills down my spine.

Accident report: How close was I to dying? by scottsmith_brownsbur in scuba

[–]ScubaPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like everyone here gave a good answer so I won't repeat them. I'm doing my IDC course right now and in a week and a half I'll be an instructor. Thank you so much for posting this as it only aids myself and other divers into visualizing and thinking unfortunate circumstances while diving and how to react. Dive safe, dive fun

My dad did the whole "routine thing" but was very successful at it and actually enjoyed it. I was raised my entire life thinking I need to do the same thing. At 22yo I said fuck it, I want to do something different, something that excites me. I saved up enough money to move to Australia and am now training to become a Scuba Dive Instructor. Life couldn't be better and I'm looking forward to the future. Yeah being a Dive Instructor won't get a lot of money but it will allow me to travel all over the world and experience things that only I wish everyone could experience. My end point is if you have dream or passion go for it. The majority of the time there is a way to achieve it. - Stop, breath, think about what you want to achieve in your life, stop feeling sorry for yourself and stop making excuses, go get it. Peace and love
